All About Pocket Knives

Just, if this dude could talk, I would love to hear the story of this ones life. Back when knives were of high using quality. This knife has been opened thousands of times I'm sure, yet the springs are still real snappy. It is riding in my hip pocket right now, it's a pleasure to carry a knife like this, makes you wonder, who all has owned and used this knife over the years?, what was the guy like?, why did he choose this knife?, how did he aquire it? It brings up a whole list of questions................................if knives could talk

This one's not nearly that old, but I like it. A Buck congress with yellow sawcut Delrin handles.

Hey MM. I really like that I*XL. Looks like it has seen some honest work over the years. Do you have any more info on it? I often wonder about my knives... who owned them, where they've been, what they've done etc. I might be able to help date it if you have a close-up of the stamp. s-k

Here is a closeup of the tang, I know nothing about this knife really, just guessing ta a date, I got it for $5 at a show, so I'm not complaining. all 4 blades are tang stamped and have long pulls. Here is a pic of the tangstamp. Thanks!

Hi... this is not definitive. With the England on the stamp it was made in 1891 or there after. This one likely before 1930ish. If it has 'oil the joints' on the reverse side of the tang then post 1930 ish. That's the best I can do for now. Great old knife. Thanks. s-k

thats great S-K, no oil the joints on it though. Good enough for me, I really appriciate it, at least it stops the guessing game.

my only other congress, a small german boker, I love this little knife.

hi everyone im new and i got a question about a knife i got a few days ago after my grandpa passed and it just got stollen. all i know is it said case xxx it had a antler lookin handle and a picture of a buck i think on the blade still in the origional box never used or anything does anyone know anything about that knife i cant find a picture or anything and from what i read the xxx series is pretty rare...thanks

I think this was Bulldog's first use of Himalayan Sheephorn. Himalayan, Merino, heck they both stink when you grind 'em. The first 5 are Proto's for Bulldog's 25th Anniversary. The factory Error is it has a 25 year bar but 1995 stamped blades.

The last one is another of those 1993 Prototypes with print rather than script writing, "Bulldog Brand Prototype". I really like the stag on this one, more like first generation stag than most third generation knives. The knife has a COPY of the Original September 1993 Invoice/Shipping Document signed by Achim Gronauer of Friedrich Olbertz. The COPY is signed by Jim Parker with a hand written description of the knife.

Thanks, they are some rather rare dog's. There are a few more around here, need to take some pictures though.
