All About Pocket Knives

According to the H&R website Frost is still having them made in Germany.I hope so I can't take another of my favorites turning to junk.I was a big kissing krane fan when I got one in the mail with a big orange china sticker I about shed a tear.If anyone has any info on this H&R to china thing please tell me.Thanks

I bought a Bullfrog knife last weekend at a knife show in Lafayette, TN. The owner of Bullfrog is Joe Eden. He readily tells people that the knives are made in China. The knife I purchased is a quality made knife. I am really please with it. I only paid $18 for a stag trapper and it looks great. I can understand people frustration with the tang stamp indicating it was made in Lafayette, TN but it wasn't that big of an issue for me since I already knew it was made in China. If you get the chance to buy a Bullfrog I would recommend them.

Nothing there tells me that any part of the knife was made in Germany...just that the "expertise" is from Solingen, Germany. Seems deceptive to me.

Nowadays I will not buy a knife if it has anything to do with Frost cutlery or Parker's ...IMO,they deceive and scam people into buying there products by telling only half the truth and omitting where the knives are actually assembled...CHINA

Or any other company that does the same....IMO,the Bullfrog knives Lafeyette TN. are no different to the Owlhead knives from the ironworks of Munich Germany.... They are both scams trying to prey on inexperienced knife collectors or people who think they are getting a quality made knife at a good price..
I think it is BS....and the seller should have to put in his description of the knife the actual Country of origin...It is a SCAM..plain and simple!!

I got a new H&R back about a year ago from Jim Frost and I would have bet money that it was made in China. I sent my old knife in due to defects and I was sent some piece of crap whittler. After that I just stick with American Made.

Not to be argumentative BIGJAY but if Mr. Eden doesn't mind to "READILY TELL PEOPLE THAT THE KNIVES ARE MADE IN CHINA", why doesn't he just drop the Lafayette, TN. mark from the tang stamp and put "Bullfrog MADE IN CHINA" on it? Of coarse that would make it harder to fool the unknowing public wouldn't it? You see, not everyone in the general public has the gift of knife knowledge that folks like you have to know that the Bullfrog knives are made in China. They tend to go by the only information that they can find on the knife. BTW Johnnie R, I agree with your post 100 %

It seems that Mr. Eden is also selling another brand that looks very fishy to me. The knives have a very misleading play of words on the tang stamp.

Glad I found this article. I was looking at a group of Bullfrog knives from a particular seller that I just purchased a Russel Knife made in Solingen Germany from. (Still waiting for that one to arrive)
I thought they looked a bit fishy, so I looked here for the answer to country of origin.
I think I'll pass on those.
