All About Pocket Knives

I really like those brownings. I promised you guys some pics, but forgot about the task of photographing a few of my knives, so here are a few to make up for lost time.

I've shown a couple of mine, but since there is some interest in the Browning brand, here is a quick picture of my Browning "Folding Hunter".....

I know a pawn shop that has a browning folding hunter, but they want considerably more than $11! I keep trying to talk them down. I would take it if I could get them down to $20.

Here is a KA-Bar folding hunter I picked up at a pawn shop for about $10.

Lb7 was manufactured in '77, before buck designed his, really? I have resources that tell me that Buck manufactured the model 110 folding hunter in 1964. Now, I'm not real good at math, but I figure that is 13 years or so prior to the introduction of the lb7.

Ya missed the tongue hanging out thingie Muskratman! It was a "tongue-outa-cheek" reference to an age old squabble knifeies have engaged in for years! Sure, Buck was first, even according to Buck's website. You did note that I added first production year 1977 (17,000 made) even though they didn't start advertising, selling and shipping them til 1978? In fact, Schrade made some knives for buck, and sourced Buck knives to Wal-Mart and other retailers.

You really DIDN'T need to show me that . I have been meaning to pick up a set of stag from someone to facy one of mine up a bit. The stag 110's just look awsome IMO, especially with damascus, better yet drop point damascus blade, thinned bolsters, thin sambar........uh oh, I'm thinking here we go again

EDIT: just checked the auction out, too fat for my tatses, nice piece of stag though, and you can't beat the price!

Fat yes but I am 6"3" tall and close to 300# with 13 DD shoes I have extra large hands too. So time will tell if I get it. Then I will let you know if it's to fat.

Here is another one for ya ta see I'm gonna be putting it up for auction here pretty soon. They are fairly "scarce" you just don't see as many as you do lb7&'s or 6OTs. This one is an honest near mint knife, It has the sheath too, just can't find the box or papers, which sucks. The white spots on the handle is smudges on the scanner screen.

I brought mine in a book store in the early 80's as a user, retired it late last year. Sheath is in nice shape also.
The stud is mine, opens smooth as silk.

I added it to my Favorite Searches list on eb and only two have popped up since then.

That a nice Pheasant Hunter , makes me want to eat.

Here's another Browning. This ones recent manufacture. The others from earlier in the thread were from the seventies or early eighties as far as I can tell.

Jfarmer, the handles on that Case small game knife are some of the nicest I've ever seen.

Well.........If we aren't limited to folders, then I will show some of my fixed blade hunting knives.
Here are three Schrade 152OT's I got as blanks and then finished them myself.
The one on the left is handled in Cocobolo. The middle one has a Bokote handle & the one on the right has a jigged Water Buffalo horn handle.

I have made a lot of fixed blades from blanks out of the old Schrade factory, but recently I have started on slipjoints after seeing all of the ones Muskrat Man has done.

Ah yes, nice work Dale!

I'm pretty sure Mossdancer doesn't mind a few fixed blades...or even firearms...mixed in for variety. That's part of the fun, at least IMO.

Here is one you might need if the hunt is a success.....

I think its about time to mention it. I believe that were the truth known there are as many hunters out there in collections as any pattern made with exception of some of the newer classics possibly.

Keep em coming. I think an apt description would be they are just great big old lazy knives that just feel good. And a whole barrel full of them look good also.
