Old, Old Coca-Cola that needs to be put back together S.C. Johnson Corn Knife/Razor from 1916

I don't have many but here's a few. Had to keep the last two in separate showcases 'cause I was hearin' rattlin' every night when I had 'em in the same case.

What is the tang stamp on that Coca-Cola?

Muddy - From what I've read, that Remington Nehi Leg Knife is real and original. There are a lot of repros out there. From what I've read the repros did not have that sharp tip/edge on the front of the heel of the boot. Am I remembering correctly?

Dimitri - Here is a pic of the stamp on the Coke knife. The whole knife is apart and I'm not sure if it is worth the cost of having it put back together. All the parts are there.

The Remington NEHI knife is indeed an original and it's real close to mint, there is just some very faint peppering near the top of the back of the blade.

It would not cost much at all to re-pin it.

You can probably stick that blade in yourself, at least temporarily pending pro repair. Just set the blade in the frame and eyeball it to where you think the holes will line up and squeeze it down with a pair of vise grips to compress the backspring. When holes are aligned, stick a #3 or #4 penny finish nail thru the holes to hold it. Then you can cut the nail off at your leisure. Adjust the vise grips to where it doesn't put a killer squeeze to it and use a folded piece of paper towel to protect the knife from the jaws if they're ridged. The problem here is matching the pin to the handle material and it looks to me that the handles on your Coke knife are aluminum and you would probably need that for the pin for the permanent repair. Don't peen the pin down without having a slim strip of steel around it that you can pull out once the peening is done. Without that little allowance (10 to 15 thousandths) you will freeze the blade in to where it will not open/close properly. I hope that's not too confusing.

I have see these Remington reproduction knives with Aluminum, Nickle Silver, and Brass handles.

The blades have the Remington etch and some do not.

Various tang stamps were used.

All the repro`s I have seen have Stainless Steel blades, the originals have Carbon Steel.

I got the Coca-Cola knife repaired. Elvis did the job, and a great job he did. I am really surprized that there was such a knife under all that wear. Big thanks to Elvis.
