All About Pocket Knives

I love the number of single blade 73s they have put out. I would love to see a true drop point among them.

Here's what I'd like to see from GEC: (Sorry, not really blades, but patterns.)

1. A Case Sidewinder type frame, maybe not as big but at least 4 1\2 inch. Instead of a rattlesnake etch they could make a deep dotted acorn, thus no shield on the scale and no thumb pull. (It wouldn't have to have the lock shield although that would be great.)
2. A canoe! I think they would sell a million, especially if they were around 4 inches.
3. A two blade, 4 inch coke bottle.
4. I own a Queen tear drop Jack liner lock, which is one of my favorites. GEC's would be really nice.

I had some sort of answer for this thread earlier on.

But knowing what I now do here is my final answer.

Being a sucker for Equal Ended knives I wish for a 3.5 to 3.75 Equal ender with a Spear on one end and a Pen on the other. Sort of like a big pen knife.

I also would not turn down a 3.5 Barlow with a Spear only or a Spear and a Pen.

Blades should be flat ground from the spine!

I want to see the #53 Cuban stockman with a spear main blade in place of the clip. It would be a modern high-quality version of an old-time cattle knife.

OK - here goes. How about a large ( 4 inch closed ) cattleman. Flat ground, short clip main with a long pull sharing the front pin with a leather punch from the harness jack and a flat ground spey on the back end. Squared, coffin ground bolsters with spiral cut buffalo horn scales.

That Toothpick is sweet! Gotta get my hands on a couple of those!

For me...............the Saddlehorn pattern is cream of the crop. I think it would be a big hit for them. And since a picture is worth a thousand words........................

WOW! I'm with Gary on the Saddlehorn idea.

I like a nice big sowbelly as well. Don't own one, but that will change if GEC makes one.

I am looking forward to a two blade version of the Melon Tester whittler. On my recent stop at GEC I was told that they will be coming out with one in a few months.

He also asked me what I would like to see in handles................and I said black composite, and that seemed to puzzle him. But I do like them and I have never seen a straight black GEC knife. We will see.

I have one of their Congress pattern with the large spear point blade. Really nice knife...but they are not going to make any more of them.

I'm looking forward to the new Dogleg Trapper.

Ebony wood handles rock

I can understand why he might have been puzzled when they offer so many nice handles and textures. Any of their hardwood handles should be plenty durable.

Ebony wood handles rock

Crap Jody you just set me back about $250, It's been awhile since I bought anything from Cumberland, but they had a 2007 left over that I had to get in a 73 pattern, and a harness Jack that was cool and a Barlow I couldn't pass up.

Can't wait to get 3 more GEC's

No I didn't get the Ebony, I got a 73 from 2007 in River Valley Green. It caught my eye because I don't have any GEC's older than 2008. The 25's which I have the most of did not come out until 2008.

I got a 25 Barlow in Inferno Bone - It kinda reminds me of the Case Rough Black old knifes, can't wait to see what it looks like.

And I got a Harness Jack Cigar in Burnt Stag Bone.


I have a Barlow in Buffalo Horn that is sweet, as far as Black knives go.
