Love the first one,
Who would think a big old UP loco would be sneaking through the field. That is what it looked like to me.

Steve, I was cruising along looking at birds and deer and all of a sudden there it was, I was shocked and started talking to myself. That track is all overgrown, and I hadn't seen a train on it for a couple of years.. ..until today. I probably should have reported it, it may have been hijacked by some tren de aragua members.

Couple shots from this evening at Udall KS. WB Local with a former Santa Fe unit on the point. Still a few SF units on the rail 30 years after the BN merger !!

Excellent pics and use of lighting!!!!! That would be great to see, it looks as if the BNSF patch blends in, and doesn't have that glaringly ugly look that I have seen on many units (not Santa Fe).

What a great picture of a fleeting moment in time, rainbow, train, rushing water from the storm, remnants of clouds from the storm, great timing.

Just saw these 2 side by side, and thought it would be good to post for a nose comparison of a GP60 (1169) and SD40-2 (4255). I was looking at the 1169, and to me it had the looks of one that had been repainted. I dug a little, and found that it was originally a St Louis & Southwestern/Cotton Belt loco. I found a pic online of how it looked back in the day, so the first 2 pics are mine and the 3rd I downloaded.

Ran across this Alco moving grain cars at the Cargill grain elevators in Gilman, Illinois. A quick search revealed that it has been repowered with a Caterpillar engine.

Do you (or anyone) know why this is an often used paint scheme/livery? Usually just the railroad initials are changed, maybe someone who paints for Shortlines?
Cool pictures, gents!
