Hey Tsar!
Actually i am quite pleased with it quality wise. F&F is quite good, for a cheap knife. I have the exact same feelings for cheap Schrades. They are pretty much "schrades". Dad bought 1 and has hated it ever since. They are the cheap junk. I think they are Camillus budget brand. I have looked at new Camillus lots of times. They are quite high quality knives for the price. Same thing with Gerber "Bear Grylls". Anyway back to the knife, i can say the grind on this one is perfect. I guess with modern equipment you can get very well shaped blades for not a lot of dough. Blade centering is excellent. Easy to open "one hand". Great snap. No blade play. Nice smooth closure. Razor sharp. No huge gaps in assembly. Nice beefy back spring.
What more can i say, only this. She blows German Bull knives out of the water. GB knives are total junk! I got a 5" congress and it is total crap! Worst of China! And they are big money on ebay. I thought mine was only bad, WRONG! You can see in pics that they are all really bad. And they bring over $50 bucks and up! Beware! Anyway, I know the "Les Stroud" Camillus series is really "knice". Hope that helps!
Willy

Giving this Buckshot a review.....it failed immediately as the thumb stud tab does nothing to help open the knife....

Good looking pairing David, can't go wrong there.

Yes sir woodwalker, that'll get the job done.

Not the prettiest, but she'll take a keen edge. The master rolls smooth on the spring, no snap, but no wobble, either. The other two blades w&t decent enough, with no wobble on 'em.
Guess I'd carry it more if it was "pretty", but she'll be sure to have occasional time in the pocket now and again.
Such a treasure you have there Steve, Not sure If my grandfathers carried a pocket knife but if they had I would love to have one in my possession.
Third day in a row for me with the Queen lock back in the pocket, paired it with a Robeson sleeveboard pen tue. and with a S&M Barlow wed.

A lot of fine knives being pocketed by all.

I sure like the looks of that Fight'n Rooster from a couple pages back Geo, what's the length on that one?

Think it's a 1945 year according to Charlie Compangna who looked it up for me in his encyclopedia because no one at the OKCA knew anything about it that we checked with. Thanks Charlie. Great knife.
Another vintage gem there Ivoryman, that's a sweet one.
I decided to stop baby'n and start using this bloodwood handled Queen 4L special. Carried it and this vintage bone Camillus yesterday.
Sun, that bloodwood is just fantastic!
Thanks J1890.

Does the pattern # end in 17 or 12? If the former, it dates your knife to 2017. While I didn't pay much attention to the last 66 run, I do remember a hemlock bone offering. It wasn't terribly long ago, 2017 sounds about right.
Your memory is correct, Tony, it's a 2017. And thanks for pointing that out for the benefit of anyone who might have thought I knew what I was talking about or thought I could type.

Just a couple of Camco's today, they were calling out to me this morning begging for their turn. The stockman is the knife that started me down the collecting rabbit hole, it came from my dad's coffee can of knives after he passed. It is unbelievably sharp. The Barlow I picked up a while back just because I liked the blade 'patina.

I'm infatuated with the 82 stockman but the 66 is starting to call to me. The Queen and Case are both awesome knives too.

ACSB is one of the two biggest reasons I miss Queen. The other is Winterbottom bone. That gunstock is glorious!

That Anvil is in really good condition. They're fetching a lot more money than I ever dreamed these days. You sure do have a treasure trove, biggie-H!
The bull moose was restless today so into the LFP it went, along with the Boker in the watch pocket and the Gerber in a fairly small belt sheath. Two days in a row without a modern OHO folder?
