Nice stuff as usual you all . All this temptation here ,you guys sure snag some good stuff .
Got this Congress finally ,was held ransom for awhile . When bought it didn’t realize all 4 blades had mini long pulls ,really nice on such a small knife . Bought it cause of the bone and a member here had a fair price . Now I’m not a Case guy as a Collector ,mainly Camillus, but this little Congress is really nice.
Thanks all, stay warm and safe out there. ::tu::

Got this one in the mailbox today. A Craftsman 9507 2-7/8" Pony Jack. This one has the oval Craftsman shield that does not have the crown surrounding the name. I'm not sure which came first, but this one is a little harder to find. I have several with the other shield. This one is about as close to new old stock that I have found. It still has the original luster on the blades, and the blades only have a few age spots. The scales have no wear with a minimum of shrinkage. Blades have no wobble, they don't look like they've been used or sharpened and have great snap now that I've oiled them. I don't know why, but I love these little pony jacks.

::tu:: ::tu:: Very nice Jerry. I've seen those and may have to have one. Are the Stars & Bars on the handles painted/dyed on the surface, or is the pattern etched (recessed) into the bone?

It's etched. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say I think the color is dyed. VERY fine work. The stars are super tiny yet distinct. How the heck do they do that?

Appreciate the info Jerry. I've not seen one in person, and really couldn't tell in the photos I've seen.

How do they do it?????? ::shrug::

Today I received a most interesting envelope from a seller on ebay. I had won a small Robeson pen knife but the package is almost more interesting than the knife.
Have you ever seen this before?

The knife is a 2 3/4" Robeson ShurEdge Rochester, N.Y. No pattern numbers on the blades.

That's a cool one, jerryd. If I'm seeing/deciphering the date tang stamp correctly, it appears to be from 2013(?)...yet that's the first time I've seen that particular 07 model (I guess every once in awhile I should probably pull Mini-T Monkey's head out of the little 07W foxhole he's dug himself into just to see what's going on in the wider Mini-T world).

Nice little Robeson. ::tu:: But I have to admit, I've never seen so many stamps on an envelope in my life.

Philip, I'm developing a taste for Robeson and that little pen knife you got looks pretty "tasty" (Mini-T Monkey better look out, apparently he may soon have competition for space riding on ~Q~'s back ::paranoid:: ).

The number of postage stamps on that envelope made me wonder which cost more: the knife or the shipping? ::hmm::

I'm going to show my age here, but, i can remember when you could pay accounts and buy goods with postage stamps. ::hmm:: ::mdm::

~Q~ that one languished on eBay for at least 2 months until my financial situation healed enough for me to make an offer on it. You are correct. It's a 2013.

All the rest of you guys, thanks for the compliments.

In recent days there was some discussion about Parker knives, not all of it entirely favorable. Once the quality of manufacture has been examined judgments quickly become subjective. One person is indifferent about a knife, another finds the same knife greatly appealing. Such is the human condition. Here is my recently arrived Japanese Parker. I can see why Kennedy Knives selected this knife for his store. It is well put together: tight runup, perfectly centered blade, smoothly working lock. I like smooth bone and these covers press my buttons. No, this knife is not at the same level of a GEC or a Bulldog, or top of the line Japanese blade, but for around $50 bucks I feel I have acquired a good looking, eminently practical, knife.

Received today a replacement for my Hattori Black Mamba. 7 1/2" OAL. I like the blade's deep swedge and slight recurved edge. It now impresses me as a quality piece from stem to stern. When the first iteration arrived and it was not quite up to snuff, e.g. a proud pin and a stiff lock, Japan Knife Direct immediately offered a complete refund or replacement. I chose the replacement. JKD provided a level of service and communication I have seldom encountered. Glad to recommend them.
