Some stuff just from the store and a forum member here.


First of all, a A. Wright and Son Lambfoot from the store here. Fit and finish is really good, and it feels great in my hand. Rosewood is MUCH better than that crappy stag-pattern plastic on the Eye Witness (which I lost last summer) it replaced. Hard to believe they can still make these things and sell them for around $30-40 even in these days while maintaining old Sheffield quality. I have one new Eye Witness (a "Clip Point" Barlow-type knife) and it's not that good, and was blunt out of the box. The Wright is properly sharp. While blade centering doesn't bother me, it's perfect. For farm work, nothing beats the full size Lambfoot. Blade shape, weight, and size make it perfect for most farm chores. The lambfoot takes its name as its original purpose was for cutting sheeps' hooves. I've done that with a rope knife (sheepsfoot blade), since well, the guy who knew what he was doing had a dull, POS knife; and I'd just cleaned and sharpened that rope knife and threw it on my belt. And, I'm not afraid to do it with this knife, but I have a proper (Morakniv) hoof/toe trimming knife in my fixed blade box for when that job comes up again, so I won't need to use my folder.
The seller had used a small scrap of tartan flannel fabric as packing material. This is gonna be really handy for when I have to photograph things like chassis of diecast models by setting them on the tops of their roofs. It won't take up as much space as a bandana (what I used to use), but soft enough to avoid scuffs. And, unlike that old red bandana, the color isn't so bright, it reflects onto stuff I'm trying to photograph.
This group of diecast (and one cast iron) model comes from Ripster. He asked a very reasonable $10 for the excavator, but the rest were just the cost of shipping for the package.


Cast Iron Fordson. These were usually sold as decorative items, and copy 1920s era Arcade cast iron toys. Still heavy, and much more crisper cast than the "John Deere" I bought (and got fooled by, but luckily didn't have much into) many years ago at an antique mall.
ERTL Case 9030B 1/50, in most cases, isn't that much bigger than 1/64. I was wrong. This is a really big piece, and heavy. It's a bit over a foot long with the bucket at full reach.
ERTL John Deere Soundgard. This was when Ertl decided to start getting into doing 1/64 scale in the '70s. This one, however, is a bit smaller than that. I don't know what model it is--I don't think they ever had model numbers on these early 1/64 pieces.
Lesney Matchbox #51 "Trailer". This one has both tires (due to cellulose acetate rims, the tires tend to fall off as they age), which are on reasonably tight. The friction sheave, used to mimic hydraulics, is also tight. Usually, these are worn so much, the beds don't stay up on the pieces like dump trucks that use them. Now to find the John Deere/Lanz that was made to be paired with the trailer. Been meaning to pick up both, and this saves me the hassle of finding the trailer.


Tootsietoy Jam-Pac "Pumper" (American LaFrance 900 series). Looks like this guy was buried for many, many years underground before being found. I've found a few of my old pieces (and even some of my Dad's) doing barn and garden work.

Frustratingly slow delivery, but I would say...worth the wait!

Cody, that is a sweet knife. Those caught my eye as well. Looks very quality and great price.

A couple from yesterday and a couple today.

An addition to my Camillus 72 family. A long line Camillus tang stamp 72 pattern swell center whittler with black scales and Federal style shield. Blades are full, great snap with no looseness or wobble, but do show wear with scratches. Slight shrinkage of the handles, but are tight with no cracks that I can see. Edges of the blades have not been abused. Next, an addition to my Camillus 72 Clone Family. An Imperial swell center whittler Scout Knife with black scales and Federal Style shield with Boy Scout logo. Blades are tight with no wobble. The main and secondary clip blades have great snap, and the coping blade has what I would call good snap, but not as strong as the others. The blades have some of the original luster, but do have spots, spiders, some slight pitting spots, and scratches. The handles are tight, but do have noticeable shrinkage. Still a tough knife to find in this pattern. Next I was able to pick up a Camillus Duratool still in the pack. The Duratool knife has the later issue double line Camillus tang stamp. Bubble is still attached but is coming loose ant the corners, and the card is starting to de-laminate along the bottom edge. Lastly I picked up a Anvil Brand two blade Serpentine Jack which is produced by Colonial. It is 3-1/2 inches closed. This one has the reddish brown delrin handles & anvil shield. It has the earlier Anvil Tang Stamp, the later run of these had the Colonial tang stamp. Blades are like new, excellent snap with no wobble. Scales are tight, but do have a few nicks. The seller I got this from also threw in a surprise freebie in the package. The yellow handle three blade Old Cutler Stockman. Has a little wear, but overall a very serviceable knife that will go into my EDC rotation.

That is a knice 5 Papa Bones.
