Full Disclosure: Both recipients were aware in advance that a knife was coming to them, although for different reasons. Tom knew because I had to ask him for his address (and instructions for shipping a knife to Germany), but he didn't know what kind of knife or exactly when it would arrive.

Jade's jade Paul was the culmination of a deal we made 5 or 6 years ago (I think she was in 6th grade at the time). I promised to give her the knife when she graduated from high school...if she had at least a B avg (and no kids!) So, unlike Tom, Jade knew the exact knife she was getting and had a general idea of when it would arrive, sometime around graduation (although the disruption of life as we know it by covid-19 made everything a bit murky in that respect).

Crazy how both bombs landed practically simultaneously. That was sheer coincidence...unintentional carpet bombing...accidental strafing. But, both targets were fully vetted and it was determined they were deserving of some ordnance lobbed in their respective directions. Mission accomplished!

Apparently when Ivoryman decides to drop a bomb, he holds nothing back. Thank you, my friend...it is both an honor and a pleasure to be bombed by you!

As much as I love the incredible knife-bomb, I gotta admit, though, the hand-made, bespoke "thank you" card from Jade really touched a soft spot inside me. I won't show the personal message inside, but I will give you a peek at her fine cover artwork; just like the knife, every detail is spot on perfect. Not only is she an excellent artist; but, she cleverly incorporated a personal detail about me ("Q") in her drawing. How very "Da Vinci Code" of you, Jade (if you're reading this)! See if you can find it.
