All About Pocket Knives

Just when you think you are safe and it's ok to take off you PPE you catch a load of shrapnel right in the head. In my mail box today was an innocent enough box with my name on it all the way from Charlotte MI. Inside was a couple of whittlings from our own Doug51. A great little rooster, whittled from a single branch and mounted on a bone base along with the infamous toilet paper roll. What a very special and personal gift. Things folks make with their own hands are always valued. Along with a note Doug included a little Camillus made Remington in like new condition. What a special and wonderful gift. Thanks Doug.

Hey Floyd,

You called that a "camillus made Remington". Is this one also camillus made? The Stamps look the same. Is it the same model? It's a cool little knife!

I wouldn't be surprised Tom. The one I just received has classic Camillus Delrin handles on it. I'm not as familiar with all of Camillus handles but that one could be Indian stag. Maybe some one more knowledgeable than me will come along and verify.

This is turning into the week that was and it's only Tuesday. First Floyd bombs me and then Floyd gets bombed. Now Dale (orvet) has lobbed one into my fighting hole. Grabbed the mail off the front porch and mixed in with mail for a guy that lives a block West of me was something from Dale. He decided he didn't like the color of the handles on this Ultra Violet Case 6254W and instead of swapping them out for something else, he sent the knife to me. Well let me tell ya Marine, I like it. A lot!!!! I think she's a beauty and really appreciate you thinking of me. Semper Fi. I know you're not supposed to salute enlisted men but what the hey. THANK YOU!!!

Jerry, that violet is pretty sweet!

jerryd must have a lightning rod on his head or a big bullseye tattooed on his back since he seems to be drawing a lot of friendly fire. I guess that's what you get for being such a popular guy, jerryd.

Had a bit of a notice concerning a scheduled bombing of Starvation Plantation. Floyd sent a note the other evening saying that I need to be careful around the mail box on Monday or Tuesday. There would be an envelope from someone I didn't recognize. Well it arrived and inside was a most interesting canceled check from Queen Cutlery Company. My 1st opportunity to participate in the Knife & Cutlery Ephemera thread.

Great Job Ryan!

It's been more than a moment that our letter carrier has surprised me with an unexpected package so you can imagine my ear-to-ear smile as I slowly stepped into my lair. There was a total of 4 packages today for me, 3 from the world of knives. The first package was a Wusthof carrying case for my youngest son's new kitchen cutlery if you've been following our quest in the First Cup Diner. The second package is under a deep-deep-double-probation-lockdown and won't be posted in New Mail Call until the coast is clear (shhhhhh). The third package threw me for a loop; I didn't know the return address or shipper (at first) and it felt like there was a box inside a padded envelope that had some weight to it.

When I opened the package, to my great surprise was an Official GSUSA Kutmaster Junior Scout knife......hot diggity-dog..........
She needs a new awl/punch but I'm sure one of my knife mechanic buddies will step up and make this little honey right again to where Joan Scott (name on the box) would be amazed.
