I'm putting my Case knives away for a while, not sure I could stand to carry one at this very time.
This should be huge for GEC, I know Case will lose business over this move.
In the back pocket for the day.

And Gino, both of those GECs are beauties.
That #73 should last you a good while, enjoy it my friend.

I'm not about to pitch my US Case knives just because they will start making "Tactical" knives in China!
I only have a Bocota Wood GEC Trapper that is a wee bit massive for front pocket duty.

Thanks Caleb
I think your right, GEC will have a lot of new customers after this.
Dave, I wont pitch the Case knives I already have but I wont be buying any new ones.

I slummed most of the day. Went out for milk with Kutmaster Scout LFP, Case CV Red Humpack Whittler RFP, CRKT Mirage modded tip up clipped RFP and yeller CV nut in watch pocket.
Back here in shorts and have the Eagle over Phila 4" Jack that Viking Dog sent me! in LFP.
Fenix P2D was with me in jeans. Lumapower InceDio (123) is in RFP now.

Please take a look.

Dave is easy to spot in a crowd. He's the one wearing the industrial strength suspenders.

Just this minute I have Eagle over Phila. 4" Jack in LFP.
Going to get a pic or two of this Eagle and a Camillus TL29 that Viking Dog sent along with it.
Which is in my RFP at the moment.

Going to go play at my old job (Pressure Washer Repair).
Going to load up a Scout LFP, something from the RFP pile, Case Yellow Nut in watchpocket.
Can't decide Necklance or one hander clipped RFP......

My answer of what I'm carrying is increasingly the same... my Opinel #8. At home or away, it's pretty much the first knife I reach for to do any food prep. It does so good at that, my understanding and expectation of what I'm willing to settle for from a pocket knife has changed.
Why in the world would I rummage around in the kitchen drawer to find a knife to carve a roasted chicken when I have a perfectly capable knife right there in my pocket? Going the other way, why would I carry a knife that was too short to handle food prep? My poor Schrade 5OT, which I happen to like quite a lot, is sitting rather unused just because of this.
If I needed a pocket knife to open bags of industrial solvents, I guess my approach would be different but I don't and the knife is never so dirty that a quick wash n wipe can't clean it up.
Well, at least I have a new lousy picture, even if it's the same knife answer.

My go to everyday knife is an SOG Flash 1. I like it because I can open it with one hand and the pocket clip makes it very easy to get to, but I do miss the scissors, tweezers and toothpick in the SAK I used to carry.

Dave, hats off to you my friend, it sounds like you may be able to do the whole one knife think.
It takes a special knife knut to be able to only live on one knife, I can't for the life of me manage though.
I think it comes down to having more than one knife to admire while I'm out. I know that one knife will handle all the tasks I face in a day, but I want more, I want to have a back up. I have been toting three as of late and it's been great, I don't feel over knifed, but I feel comfortable. I may slow down someday when it comes to EDCs, but not now.

At the moment my Benchmade 350 is clipped in my shorts pocket.
I had it East Texas modded to tip up. But when I tried to do it right it just wouldn't take.
So it's back to tip down. I'll come back and put up a pic tomorrow probably.

Here are a couple shots of my BM 350
Front showing a crude mod to make the thumbstud easier to get to:
And here is the back. You can see the holes where I tried tip up. The liner doesn't go out where the outer screws go. So once I opened those holes there was nothing that would hold there:
The knife is right at 4" long and was my first "Good" knife some years ago, perhaps as early as 2001.
You would HAVE to admit, this thing has "Character".....

Johnny, "increasingly" <> "exclusively"!!
Today, I'm carrying this one...
I just ♥ the shape of the old camper spear points. By far my favorite blade shape. If they were only a bit longer. I'll carry the camper for a day or so, basking in the novelty of opening a beer bottle without need to dig my opener out of the kitchen drawer. But then, I'll go to spread some peanut butter and will get frustrated with getting it on my knuckles because of the camper's relatively short blade and the Opinel will return to my pocket.
Most used knife? Yes.
Only knife? Ouch!

Dave, I'm putting my hat back on.
It's hard to beat a good ol' scout knife, I have my hopes that GEC will be bringing one out sometime soon, I think they could really do great with one.
