Ferg....That was a steal for $5.00

As a user they usually still go for $25.00 and up and it is one of Schrades most popular skinning knives. Congrats

tongueriver wrote: Wed Feb 19, 2020 8:55 pm These were made for the Sports Afield Magazines 100th anniversary in 1987. The blades were etched by Aurum Etchings. The handle is white bone with a hand scrimshawed bass scene on one side of the handle and "An American Classic 1897-1987" on the other side. It just so happens that I also have that 100th anniversary magazine. I don't think I will throw this one into the bottom of my tackle box. I need to figure out how to store it with the magazine.fillet1.jpgfillet2.jpgfillet3.jpgfillet7.jpg
That's one really fancy Schrade for sure. I used to have one and the mirror polish and gold etch combo works really well. I think it's the only Schrade SFO I've seen with a mirror-polished fillet. Scrim work on these knives is very nicely done too. I'm glad it found an appreciative home.

I jumped at a online listing today and landed another hard-to-find Schrade featuring genuine scrimshaw art. This one is a SC507 in delrin with a heat stamp on the back but real Frank Giorgianni scrimshaw work on the front. It commemorates the 1987 "Dedication" of the Ellenville Schrade factory purchased from Channel Master in 1985. Serial SS61. I think there were 50 to 100 of these done up. Original packaging which includes a correct black "basket-weave" sheath is an added bonus. Scrim-tastic!

The Sharpfinger at bottom of previous page has the early sheath which are now hard to find. They changed the keeper strap to go around the handle within a 'couple' of years of this knife coming out.

Excellent find.
That knife takes a wicked sharp edge.
And the old style sheath was a bonus. I believe they were changed as the blade was cutting the strap.

I had a decent haul of delrin schrades today. Four of these came as a nice package deal and all of them are minty in box. Walden era 108OT and 8OT and a USA 93OT.

An SC503 liner lock trapper with a gator scene and a camillus made electrician stamped S.C.C. USA 204. I will be selling the electrician, so it's available for anyone that's interested.

Perfect looking 125OT. It is a GREAT knife.
Now you can search for the 4" 123OT, another total winner knife, but hard to find.

I love all the Schrade hunters and mini-hunters. Here is a modified 123OT. The brass linerlock from a full-size 125OT has been cut down and put into the smaller frame and micarta handles complete the mod.

Neat & unique ! The 123OT at 4" feels wonderful in hand. It would field dress a deer just as well as the 5 1/4" 125OT, and just as safely with the liner lock.

Oh MAN!! That is such a cool mod!
I love the feel of the 123 OT in my hand. I just wish they weren't so hard to come by.
It's a beauty!!

I just pulled the trigger on a pretty rare, final-years Schrade. I usually don't hit buy-it-now when you have the option of making a lower offer but I just didn't want this one to get away. https://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-USA-SC ... 4687846927

You can't find these fully-completed blue bone 5UH pattern knives very often. They were part of a 5-knife 2003-2004 limited edition set that sort of ran out of steam when Schrade closed (if I understand correctly). A small number of unfinished knives without shield or etch also escaped the factory after the closure. I have admired koldgold's full set of these in pics he's posted.

This example is completely finished with the proper etch and shield. It looks to have some really gorgeous well-matched handles. The "5UH" (as opposed to 5OT) on the packaging seems age-appropriate and correct as the 5UH staglon "Uncle Henry" version of the Bruin was listed only in 2003 and 2004 while the Old Timer 5OT was not being made at that point.

The 5UH is 3-3/4"" closed. The flyer and catalog incorrectly lists it as 3-1/2" closed.
https://collectors-of-schrades-r.us/FLY ... -CP216.htm

This knife will look great beside the two sambar Bruins already in my collection. This will be my first knife with these blue jigged-bone handles and I am really looking forward to seeing them in person.

That Blue knife is a good find, if you see any of the Schrade knives made in 2003 you have to buy them.
The two blue bone knives are very hard to find - and any finished knifes that never got to production are very rare.
That Blue Bone 5UH did not come in a box, I think it came from the auction. Box could have been from Smoky Mountain Knife Works, they bought a lot of Schrade's Stock, in 2004..

I would say that Blue Bone is harder to find then the Blue Rope-cut.
Here is the 5UH, I can not find a photo of my 55UH. They were only sold in 2002 by Walmart. 4" closd.
The 55OTG and the hard to find 35OTG were made in 2003.

Great catch...Too bad I didn't see it first, I would have jumped on that myself. The Blue Bone are scarce and I buy them when I can find them, as long as they are reasonable priced. That would have fit in well in my Schrade Room....LoL

Congrats
