All About Pocket Knives

Out in the backyard, still cleaning up from Hurricane Florence (yesterday’s work in a brushpile, down to my last two trees). Have a Buck 303 in my pocket, but the Echo chainsaw is doing all the work. OH

First day of December already. Time, she is a-flyin'!
A scuffed up Hen and Rooster 318-BIR.
Scuffed up from try to sharpen freehand on a Smith's Tri-stone. I find it a lot easier for me to get razor sharp on this Lansky 2D2C Turnbox.

Today, sharing duties with my EDC Benchmade, is this German, WWII era Solingen
pocket knife. The letters on the round shield are DH.

I forced the patina on this old Colonial. It's getting on in years but is still usable; much like me I suppose.

Carrying this Fallkniven Gentleman's Knife. 4" with Cocobolo handles.

I once owned this knife (not this specific knife but the same exact pattern) and sold it. After I sold it I asked myself the question many of us might have asked...."Why the did I sell that knife?" . So, I bought another. Bought it right here on AAPK. This one will NOT be sold.

bdev, You have a very clean, good looking knife. Do you know the wood of the handle?

Thanks John. This one is a China Marbles. Nothing special but decently made.

You know how Stevie Ray Vaughan had his "number one" Stratocaster? The late '50s axe with his initials on it. The one he always went to first, the one that always called to him? Beat up, well-loved, sweatstained and ugly but just so good at what it did?

This ten-dot Barlow is my "number one".
(A friendly neighborhood cat was sunning himself on my back porch so I made use of him for a backdrop.)

Props to you Tsar. That is a true original shot. Very creative.

Thanks, QS, I actually wish it were original! I copied the idea...from myself, a couple years ago. Back then the setting was my own cat. She wasn't as thrilled from the look on her face.

Still counts whenever you had the idea. Is not the black cat yours?

The black cat is a stray that hangs around in the yard and occasionally on the porch furniture. He's made his way inside once or twice and met my cat, who doesn't seem outwardly hostile towards him. He's a very relaxed cat for a stray - probably gets fed and petted a lot around the neighborhood.
