I love those 8OTY Schrades they only made them for one year, 1991... Ken
I sure can believe that! I have been on the look out for one for a LONG time!
Now.... on to the 50 OT...
(I understand those didn't grow on trees either)

Just arrived today, the Schrade DU Flyways set, one of 100 sets made. Two stag PH2's, one in red micarta and one in maple. These sets come up rarely and never thought I would own one. Now I will have to sell my singe DU bowie that matches the one in the set, do not need two

Congrats! I was watching that auction and just couldn't afford to pull the trigger on that particular day. Super-nice set at a good price. Enjoy!

Sorry if i'm posting this incorrectly but I'm new and so far can't find out how to post a general question.
I have a Scharde 15th Anniversary fixed blade skinnier. the paperwork says their were only 4000 made and each is serialized. I cannot find the serial number anywhere. Does anyone know where it would be located. Or, would one get into the market that was not serialized because it was not 100% quality, I ask because this one has a small molded indent in the green handle along the tang.

I could maybe help if I knew what this knife was. I am not thinking of its identity so far. Images are of course very helpful. If you can't figure that out maybe you could email me pictures, and especially of the stamping into the blade just ahead of the handle. There is a contact link for me here.

Nothing fancy, but a nice, honest Schrade Walden 8OT, tight with full blades. Does the swedge help narrow the mfg. dates?

I can't tell you about the dates, but that master clip blade looks to me like it was made at Imperial, or even Camillus. Good knife.

Nice one Jeff.
Don't know about date but I have seen other 8ot's with ulster main blades like that. If you look up an ulster 98 you will see what I mean. I don't know the reason why this happened but schrade and ulster were the same entity at that point, only with slightly different style.

OK, Ulster, then. I have seen known Imperials that look just like that, as well. At any rate it is definitely NOT a Schrade Made. Timeline? I would think most any time in the 1960s?

Picked up this beauty from the store, BG-42 and stag, a little Formbys on the stag and a quick sharpen and it is on my hip

Those are fine knives. A little tough to sharpen for a klutz like me. Hard steel. They made a big run of those for AG Russell also with stabilized wood handles. Same knife otherwise.

This Craftsman 9523 Old Timer just walked in. It hasn't had a lot of use BUT somebody has done a BAD re-tip job on it...
(That looks ridiculous......I will have to fix that mess....)
I like the grind on the top of the main blade and the long match strike pull.....

There were two match-strike nicks, used on the 8OTs, that is an early one. [1963-65?]
I have always wondered about the match-strike nick. Did Schrade ever make the Master Blades???
Dale [orvet], has an order form from Schrade to Camellus, to make blades for the 8OTs.
From about 1962-63 to the early 1970's, the history of the 8OTs is hard to find -
I have a 1961 Saw-cut bone, and an almost Smooth bone, 8OT,
I have seen Black Plastic with silver and gold fleck, and a Black Dalrin, with an oval brass shield.
The early 1970's Buck 301 knives, made by Camllus, had a main blade like that one... Ken.

WOW! I've been looking at getting a 5OT, since the 3OT is just a smidge too small for a primary folder; but brown (or my favorite, dark green as on the 5OTG) Delrin hasn't got a thing on stag!

The later 55OTG and 35OTG, both have their blades, only sharpened on one side.
Schrade also made an UH5, they were made about 2003-2004.
Schrade also made an UH55, slightly bigger then the UH5. Exclusively made for and sold by Kmart.
Look out for a C641, the C641 is a very cool knife .
I have seen one or two of the unfinished Blue Bone 5OTs on ebay, over the years.
They were samples, made about 2002-03. My finished set, came without the US Flag in the Display... Ken

More sambar stag. This time with the burnt finish. Parker 1976 "Thirteen Colonies" set centerpiece knife. 5-1/4" inches closed.
This example was sold at a reduced price. Seller described it as a "used" knife. There were only 2 pics and generally that isn't good but because it was only $60.00 I grabbed it thinking the stag was nice at the very least.
Here are the two pics I saw when buying it:
When I got it in-hand I saw that it had been improperly stored and the spring had begun to corrode as a result. The corrosion built up and started to force the spring and liners apart. I have since cleaned it the best I can without taking it apart and I'm happy with the result. Seeing some daylight between the spring and the liners is disappointing but it shouldn't get any worse. Otherwise, it looks great on display. It functions correctly. I'm satisfied I got my money's worth.

Good find tnorton,
Those 34SS knives are tops, I found this un-finished one, on eBay for US$5.
