Old school shaving.
What you see is what I use.
Some of the razors are from the 40s and 50s a few from the 60s.
The Gem single edge, far right, 3rd from the bottom may be over 100 years old. Gives a great shave.
Not shown, I have 7 straight razors. I use those on Saturdays when I can take my time and concentrate on what I'm doing.

Travel/road maps and tourist guides/brochures. I didn't and I don't collect these, I "inherited" them. They range from VERY old in age to a little more "recently."

Cool!
I remember we used to get a new Rand McNally road atlas every couple of years.
Never considered keeping them. Growing up military and doing a lot of moving meant doing a lot of packing.
There were just some things that were deemed unnecessary.

VERY nice collection of shaving paraphernalia!

I don't see a shaving cream warmer/dispenser. I have never used a shaving cream brush, but I do have one (pictured below). I sold all of my father's and grandfather's safety and straight razors. I also sold all the boxes of the blades.
I posted some old and some VERY old ads regarding shaving. Click on this link:
viewtopic.php?f=35&t=65706&start=30#p797095
They are on pages 3 & 4. There will be more posted as I find them.

My first car, a '67 LeMans, sparked my love for the GTO.
VERY nice collection of GTOs.

I collected Matchbox cars and had about 75 of them, but I never concentrated on any one particular model. Last summer I sold all of them.

WOW!!!

Beautiful collection Steve!
As I said before, I'm also a GTO fan of many years. If I ever win big in the lottery, I'll have one!
Along with an oldtimer pickup truck, 4-wheeler, boat

and a few other things Red Neck Dreams are made of.
Untill then, Thanks for sharing those cool pictures with us!
Add: And a killer knife collection!

Cool fishing gear Joe!

That's a very interesting hobby!
Case made some fishing knives that came in tins with fishing lures that I'd like to have for my case collection some day.
Or at least a couple of the lures that say case on them because I like how they look.

Thanks Tom.
I have two Case fishing knives.
I didn't know about the Case/fishing lure connection. Those would be great to have.

For you license plate collectors. I found this while I was looking for something else. It's a list of the license plate color combinations for the year 1932. There were only 48 states at the time, so no Alaska or Hawaii plates.

Old film cameras can be a lot of fun, especially when they work.
These use 120 film.

Wow, Joe, that thing looks brand new. I looked at the name and found a small amount of info. Based on what I read, it's gotta be prewar, right?
I failed to comment on your earlier post and pictures of fishing gear. Interesting things, in great condition and beautifully photographed

Thanks guys.
Ike, the first camera is a Welta Weltax. 1938-1947ish. Highly thought of camera. It as an accessory (a mask) that allows you to shoot slightly smaller images for more pictures per roll. Ordinarily it shoots a 6x6 cm negative; with the mask you can shoot a 6x4.5 cm neg.
The other folding camera is a Zeiss Icon Super Ikonta. 1937-1955. 6x6 only.
I have not shot a whole roll of film through these cameras yet and I am waiting in the mask for the Weltax from Germany.
I am really enjoying the change in photography and learning along the way.
Although I shot film for years before the digital cameras became available. I'm a little rusty.
Thank you very much, Ike.

Nice camera's Joe
Let us know when you post knife pictures from your film cameras.
How close to your subject can you get?
I still have my old Olympus 35MM OM 2 from the late 70s.

Thank you, Dan.
I can't get very close with these cameras. 3.5 ft. I hope I can show some results from this effort but it may take a while.
You have a very nice camera and accessories there. Do you still use your Olympus?

I have not used the Olympus for years, however I let a friend borrow it a couple months ago. She participated in a photography course that required "Black and White" pictures. She did very well in the course and when she returned the camera to me she included a couple rolls of new film.
I"m also a little rusty on my older technology. I'll see where it takes me.

Terrific.
So there is a dear friend in each of you. You're both very kind and this how things take off.
I was reintroduced to the "Sunny 16 Rule". Check it out.
I felt like it gave me a boost.
I hope you shoot some film.

Speaking of cameras, here's something most people don't know about me....
I have a photographic memory.
Problem is they stopped selling my film about 30 years ago.
