Thanks a bunch bud. Appreciate the compliment. Understated is the word. Clean and cool. Although it looks kind of anemic next to that mini T Northwoods you just picked up. That one has so much more character. But hey, I can't recall seeing any bad Mammoth tusk. It's all good. Thanks again.

Not “anemic” at all, my friend, I think it just has a different look than the bark; less rugged, more refined, regal like it probably came from the “dress tusk” of the Mammoth king or leader of the herd, the tusk he or she only used for special high class events such as state dinners with leaders of other Mammoth herds instead of the day to day chores required of “working tusks” that developed the rough bark from hard use like on my Northwoods. JMO

This I*XL Swayback was modded by Glennbad with Mammoth "dress tusk" for PCWizard who then bombed me with it a few years ago. Needless to say, it now holds a permanent place as one of the crown jewels in my collection.

Another sweetie. That butt end pic with the zig-zag grain is killer. The tusk is very nice and what a cool knife that makes. Like the patina too. Killer bomb. Nice one PC Wiz.

I have received a like gift ( not mammoth, but several FJ's) that I hold dear. I love Wostenholm and that's a desirable pattern . what a friend.

I have overspent on knives but man some of these Mammoth scales you guys post really speak to me.

Tuna Valley knives of the early to mid 2010s were often clad in pretty mammoth scales.
