Well, Bret & I took the plunge on this Beaver Falls Cutlery Co. I just had to have this one... It has pretty good snap & still has half stops. I am not actually sure if it is ebony or if it is horn?

congrats on a RARE PA knife. It looks like horn to me. Nice one, I watched that one myself and if I didn't already own BFC I would liked it.

Thanks, David. The history of Beaver Cutlery is very interesting. I think to myself it was probably made by the Chinese workers they had brought in? It's one Chinese made knife I am proud to own! (Did I say that?? )

Great find. The handles are horn. (imo) The lines in the handles look like hair, and horn is a type of hair. Horn beetle larva will eat hair also. The swedge on the pen blade is sweet.

Had to brag on this pearl BALDWIN Jamestown NY. I own one other Baldwin Jamestown so the pearl stays and the other ?????? we shall see. I like em both though.

I now have a pearl in each of the Tidioute Companies, from start to finish. This pearl Baldwin is awesome. The other is nice too. Cell I assume ,but a different finish to it. Click on the pic to enlarge. If you gots one, I would love to see it. !!!!!!!!!!!!

A Lackawanna Cutlery that isn't a picture knife. RARE. This girl is SHARP too. Cut my finger photographing her. HA HA HA HA. Tortoise shell type handle, Cell I would assume. Only one like it I have seen.

I asked Bret to look up when the Washington show is. He will have to look at his gunshow flyers. Washington is one of my favorite gun shows. It's pretty big by the standards around here & there are always knives to look at.

Yes it is kinda in the southwest corner of PA. It is a gunshow, but always has a few knives.

I just have to show this one off. It came on Saturday from Mild Bill In Texas. Awesome Baldwin Cutlery Tidioute Whittler. This a a gorgeous knife and is pictured in my book about GEC. I finally was able to talk Bill out of it. Not really, he convinced me I needed it!!!!!! Glad he did.

Did they ever make a Lackawanna with bone handles? All I have ever seen is celluloid. I actually met and talked to the granddaughter of the owner Of Lackawanna Knife Co. about a year and a half ago in a antique store in a little town up route 11 south of New Milford Pa. (I cant remember the name) She took me and showed me a original table and some of the wood knife boxes they used. I had a good time visiting with her.
