Think I scored a good'n here. It was a new listing and had a buy it now price way less than most others listed and less than most were getting bid up to without a box or papers. Doesn't have the right sheath, but does have the reg paper filled out that documents the original owner. I like that lil bit of provenance. I pulled the trigger not knowing the serial#, but told the seller to check it to make sure it had one before sending. They msg me back to tell me it's 08309! Schweet.. might be first year production?

Two different purchases that go together: a Buck 119 from Hank Hansen here at AAPK - inverted 3-line tang stamp with four Micarta spacers - per the USPS tracker it is out for delivery. The correct sheath for my knife, bought off ebay, is on the way and should arrive Monday to match up with the knife. That will be a 1972 variation for my Buck collection. OH

I probably should feel bad for beating ya, but I don't. LOL :)

But hey, I'd feel the same way knowing another AAPK member won. ::tu::

You know the old saying.....You can't win 'em all....if we did, we'd all be broke! ::ds::
Either way, I've got this Fight'n Rooster coming my way soon. Bought it off the BF exchange today. Never saw this pattern before. A 2 blade cotton sampler that measures around 3 1/2" inches.

Sure is an interesting cotton sampler. I've never seen one.

I have this one in coming from our very own Paladin! Can't wait to get her home and put her with my Orvet custom rehandled in bone.

This is an original bone handled Western folding hunter. Look at that pretty bone!

Thanks guys. And a big thanks to Paladin. I'm real excited to get it. I have one in bone that has the original bone on one side and a replacement on he other that Orvet did up. He matched them so well that it's hard to tell which is new and which is old. But this is the first folding hunter with all original bone for me.

All that reading on the perfect knife got me to reflecting on my favorite EDC - a 1980 Case 6318 HP - it is nearly the perfect knife - if that Spay was just a Pen it would be that much better. Got browsing around on ebay (dangerous habit) and found a mint 1980 Case 6318 HE - got the Pen in lieu of the Spay - by tomorrow I should be able to say, 'it's in the mail!' OH

Me too Paul. Got these two on the way from Paladin at Sweetwater, couple of Camillus era Buck pocketknives, down to buying variations nowadays! OH
