Thanks doglegg, Mel and luckydog for your nice comments on my stag Whittler! I would like to know approximately the date or era of production. I think it is certanly pre WWII and probably post WWI. I think probable makers would be Schrade, Walden, Empire or Ulster? Thanks again

Nice Catt luckydog! The Indian trail or worm groove jigged bone handles are wonderful ::tu::

Great thread with great knives. Here is a R7766 whittler, Remington did all they could do to this knife. Stag handles, crimped bolsters, milled liners and 4 1/2 inches long. Even in its condition it's one of my favorites. In 1928, $24 a dozen.

Beautiful stag on that Remington, Espn. Very nice knife all around.

That pen looks good, Luckydog. Great to find one that old in that good of shape.

Cool old stuff there, Twhite. We need a photo when you get that whittler back together.

A beautiful whittler there, Greg.
It's nice to know that great knives of that era are still around and that yours is in a safe place.

Great ol’ whittler Greg ::tu:: ::tu:: .. not only because it is a Case Bros but that pattern of whittler which I understand is called a “balloon whittler” is also rare... in fact same pattern of Empire whittler you got from me :) ... I always knew this pattern was different but only recently saw another of the same pattern where I learned how rare they are to find in any condition ::nod:: ...
