Anyone have any guesses what this might be? It's part of a mixed lot and I cut the picture from that. Of the three pictures in the listing, this is the best one. Because of the matchstrike pull, I would say Camillus made but the seller says "Unknown".

It looks like the handles have been painted.

For any of you who don't have a McGrew, here's your chance. Auction ends on Feb 8th @ 10:42 PST.
Not my auction. I don't know the seller. I know no more about the knife than is listed in the auction. This is a simple heads up.

Here's my second one! I got my first one with derlin scales and long line stamp because Jerry waxed eloquent about them. It's now at Glennbad's place gettin some Sunday go to meetin clothes put on it. I never thought I'd like a little knife until I got it. As I said before, it's the biggest little knife I've ever used! Now I find myself looking through every knife pile I come across just seeing if I can spot one.
Since my one and only was out getting dressed up, I just had to have this one. It's a yellow jacket, with a MoorMans feed company shield. The blades are pretty full, but somebody was hard on the cutting edge. The clip was all rolled over in places, and the coping blade had to have a little tlc too. I've just about got her straightened out. One thing I know, I need more!

Congrats on the Yello-Jaket. Now you need one of the short lines with bone handles. Man that bone is some of the most beautiful you'll ever see.

I'm looking Jerry, I'm looking. You're right, I "need" one real bad.
But, there's room for all variations of 72's here! I'm trying to put at least one in all three boys' knife boxes. They're too young to appreciate what they are now, but they will someday!
That one of yours is a sho' 'nuff looker alright!

I sent my cousin's grandson, David The Destroyer, a couple of 72s (ok one was a Powr-Kraft). It will be interesting to see if he appreciates them.

That's the first Remington I've seen with wood handles. Are the bolsters brass? From the picture one appears to be, the other does not. Camillus made a #5 between 1999 and 2003 that was essentially a 72 with brass bolsters and wood handles. It also had a plain pull on the main blade (not matchstrike).
I'm sure both your R-14s were made by Camillus. The proof is in the pins and the main blade pull and the profile of the small clip blade.
Compare this to your Remington.

That's a very nice collection you have started there. Keep at it Grant. From all the different tang stamps and variations I've seen for the first time lately, you've got a long way to go.

Thanks T.J. I placed a bid. I shouldn't have because it's in crappy condition (maybe not as bad as the one with the painted handles) but it's too late now.
Oh well.

Don't think I would have bid on that one, but hey, ya ain't got that brand. Maybe someone will recognize the pukin' chicken on the shield. No handle pins but has two pins in the bolster one the secondary clip end

If I could just learn to control my impulses.

As you can see, I got it for the minimum bid, which means EVERYONE out there is smarter than me.
After a closer look, I'm beginning to think it's made by that world famous custom knife maker, Paki Stan in the Middle Eastern cradle of quality.
Hey.

Maybe I'll send it to Grant for his ever growing collection of 72s. Whatcha think?

Jerry I live closer to Pakistan and I am far enough away so you can forget about it.I can always throw it at my sheep dogs when they think they know more than me.You should have it taped to you computer screen as a reminder .

I almost dodged the bullet. Got an message shortly after I paid saying they could not find the knife and would give me a refund or send a "nicer knife" to me. (Only God knows what their definition is of a "nicer knife".)
Sent a message back saying, "Refund please."
A little while later I got another message saying, "The refund won't happen until Monday."

(I'm bettin' they were still lookin for that knife.)
Right after that I received another message, "We found it. We're shipping it right out."
Frogs. Sugar. Fudge. Had me thinkin' there for a while, I was going to catch a break and not have to pay for my stupidity. Oh well.
