R and R more museum pieces. Those are honking spear blades RC. RC I have a Never Dull stamped knife,etched like yours far as I can tell.Hard to see under all of what looks like wire brush marks. Otherwise it seems unused.

RR seems a lot of the very old bone is light,and not just from the sun,because it's both sides.

Charlie was that a very large hdwe store?

Etch is barely visible in hand,but it's a Never Dull inside an oval. It's got a nicely swedged spear blade.

Lehrkind & Daevel Co. pearl Whittler with Washington and a hatchet etch.Goins says 1890-1910 out of Milwaukee.I will take a wild guess that the etch is to commemorate the 100th anniversary of George Washington`s death in 1799.

You have truly exceptional knives.

Here is a fancy 4" whittler by T. Smith & Co. Cast Steel - Goins' has them at 1787-1800 on Scotland Street, Sheffield.
Normally I would defer to Mr. and Mrs. Goins, but based on construction I would think later, maybe 1840's or 1850's? It would be nice to be shown otherwise

Beechtree: That is a GREAT looking knife! One thing that caught my eye is the lion on the master blade. I have one old Boker tang stamped R & H Boker's Improved Cutlery that has the exact same stamping of a lion as your knife. The tang stamp of my knife dates it @ 1860-1865 (per Mark Zalesky's Knifeworld article on Bokers), while Goins (4th edition) dates it circa 1848-1869. I will add here that my knife does not have a tree stamped on it anywhere. Boker began using the tree stamp in 1867.

From the very beginning, Boker used Wardlow's bar cutlery steel (which is English in origin) to make their pocket knife blades (according to the forward in their 1928 catalog). I thought that the commonality of English steel & the lion stamping used on both knives, may give you some more clues on dating your knife.
