Very nice early 881, Dale. Always nice to see your work, and that is a great pattern. Seems like I have one in fossil ivory around here somewhere....

Nice 804, Gringo!

Nice save on the 881, Dale - sweet bone handles and great blades!!

You'all are not going to believe this. A ten-or-so year search has come to fruition!

Charlie, that is a very nice little unit (as always :D ). Didn't know you needed one! Haha. I first watched a lady vet work her magic with a yellow (CASE? or 881Y Schrade?) stockman knife on heifer calves in our corral in Montana in 1951. I was four years old and it looked quite interesting to me. Anyway, good show!

Nice one! Let me reiterate that... Nice one! If it has a little wear it would make a GREAT edc. Otherwise a great object of coonfingery. ::tu::

Sweet 804 Donald! That is bone isn't it?
That should clean up nicely. ::tu::

Charlie, that may not be the holy grail but it is close!
That is the only one I have seen from Schrade Cut Co.
I have a Case spey Barlow, an XX I think, but I never knew Schrade made one!
Very nice catch! ::tu::

I couldn't get my credit cared out fast enough, Dale!
Case spey Barlows are rare also by the way. I've only seen one, and it was expensive!!

Here are pictures for you Charlie.
Case Spey Barlow b.jpg
Case Spey Barlow.jpg
Obviously it has been used
The front handles look like bone with an irregularity in it, but the rear looks more like stag. I think this may have been stag that has really worn down, (along with the blades).

The tang stamp did not copy well, but it is visible especially with magnification.
It is the stamp in the middle of these three Case stamps. Dated 1920-1940 in AAPK’s Research Section (or 1919-1945 of you prefer).

So, what do you think?
I have had this for years. I got it about 2006 when I started collecting Barlows.
I put in a box and that is where it has been since then.

Cool knife, Dale. Thanks for the pics. (Ignore my P.M.)
I think Utica made that knife for Case, if my Barlow research memory serves me.

it is a user...someone melted a 10 gauge hole into the coping blade...
ground, positive...no direct contact....not difficult to remember...so, how come i keep finding these melted knives...and no dead bodies?

Here's a little Schrade 808 I picked up for under $5.00 ...love it when that happens!

(sorry for the lousy pics, I'm still working on my knife photography, obviously.)

Is that the transition "glassine" handle material?

I do believe this one is bone Calvin, but glassine did cross my mind. I need to look at them closely but my magnifying glass has escaped. ::disgust::

I picked up a couple projects from ebay, both Cut Co jacks.

This one was listed as horn handles, but it turns out to be celluloid.
Schrade Cut Co celluloid jack.jpg

This one has good handles, aside from tight pin cracks at the front handle pin (both sides).
Schrade Cut Co bone jack a.jpg

What I could not tell from the pics on the auction was that the blade is short of the easy open cut out.
The seller did not show a pic of the bone handled knife in the closed position. ::disgust::
This knife was listed as having antler handles, though it was easy to see it was bone. Some sellers don't have a clue. ::shrug::

The celluloid will likely become a single blade.
Not sure what I will do with the bone handled one. Perhaps I can find a donor blade somewhere.

The Easy Open looks quite useable as is Dale.

But I know how you can fix knives.
