Mr. Slender Northfield 62 with what looks like hot cereal with melted butter bone.
I could get attached to that knife real easy.

Nice!
On my screen it looks like caramel syrup oozing down over vanilla ice cream!

Thanks Gents, looks very different from a lot of the goldenrod bone 62s I"ve seen. Nice they don't all look the same in my book. Flawless knife all around and so thin and slender it's a pleasure in the pocket. Mean cardboard attack rig.

Tell him the Egyptians tried that & they got robbed. He should give it to you for safe keeping.

Help us out Homer, what does that mean when they come with no stamp?

I believe a Queen knife with only a blade etch and no tang stamp means it was made between 1961-71.

Thanks Q, good to know. Learn something every day here. Shocks me they didn't put stamps on every knife. Never would have guessed. Thanks again.

Queen-tang-guide-sheet2.jpg

Now that's a very interesting fakt to know!

No Stamp from 61-71. So does anyone know how easily does the etching wear off on an EDC knife?

Are there a large number of Queen HOK's out there for sale that can no longer be identified as such?
I'm just curious because I have two very nice "Unstamped" knives in my collection. Of course not Queens, but the fact that a good cutlery maker may have only marked their knives with etching would be an explanation for the two nice knives that I have found. And the answer to the question I kept asking myself about them which was..., "Why would a cutlery company produce such a nice piece of cutlery & then not stamp it?" Answer is..., One who etched it instead of stamping it.

That could be the explination I've been searching for.
Thanks for that Info Q!

That question has been haunting me for some time now. I have my explination now.

It works very well and seems to make a lot of sense to me so I'm gonna stick to it.
Here are some pictures of those 2 knives. A Bearhead Jack stamped only Solingen Germany & a Stockman stamped only Stainless Steel. Both have some nice bone handles, the stockman also has half stops.

Think I just found my EDC's for the day.
