Nice Shotguns, OH. I especially like the old humpback. How many of those thing you got now? lol
I am heading to Fort Worth / Decatur to shoot with my old High School buddies this weekend. Sporting Clays on Friday in a Chamber of Commerce shoot, and then a crawfish boil on Saturday. He's said he's going to set up a little backyard 3 gun course for us on Saturday. And I have installed new scopes on 3 old .22 rifles, which they are going to help me sight in. Sure am looking forward to it.

Thanks Guys, we did have a blast. I shot in the Decatur Chamber of Commerce shoot at Fossil Pointe on Friday. I won a Yeti Rambler in the raffle afterwards, so that made me happy. And then we went to my buddies house out in the country on Saturday. I got my new scopes on the .22s sighted in. I also shot some CB shorts through my old Remington 550-1 for the first time. They were subsonic rounds (710 fps), and all you could hear was the bolt cycling. They were crazy quiet! I had a new scope on the 550-1, a Hawthorne 880, and a Marlin 60. We played a few rounds of yards darts, and ate a bunch of crawfish. It's always a good time at his place out in the country - he built a little Cantina in the back just to entertain.

Looks like y'all been having some fun!
OH I shoot consistently bad at clays everytime. Lol. But those are two classics there. I like em.
This came home to me today. It's not as fancy as some of what y'all are showing, but I've wanted one of these for years. It's a 1973 Marlin Golden 39 Mounty. It's in real good shape and shoots like a laser.

That is a beauty, Colonel. I had the pleasure of shooting an old Winchester Model 62 today.
Felt like I was at the shooting gallery at the carnival!

There was a Winchester pumper .22 at my Aunts place near Tennesse Colony, TX. Would have loved to have it but her ex husband made off with it. It was a great shooter!

I got a 62A for my birthday when I was 15 or 16. What a great weapon. It'll shoot the eye right out of a squirrel. My son can't wait to get it.

Thanks GD! It was my Grail 22 also. All the stars aligned finally. I had a Henry once that was nice, but the 39 is just a cut above any 22 repeater I've ever had.

Wade, very nice! You got the straight grip stock too - my prefered grip on rimfire leverguns. I bet you will enjoy owning that rifle! OH
Nice Winchester 62's gents - those things go for a kings ransom nowadays. Heading to the Fayetteville Gun Show in about an hour or so - who knows what I will see today. OH

That is a beauty Colonel. Very sleek when compared to the standard 39. 22's are like pocket knives, can't have too many.

Thanks gentlemen
OH the Mounty guns all have 16 inch barrels and straight stocks. The standard 39a has a pistol grip and a 20 inch barrel. You need one or three of these!
Good looking old Winchesters being shown here too. I've never shot one, but daddy has a Rossi reproduction of the old Winchester. It's real neat, but I bet it don't hold a candle.

Here's one more for the .22 love-fest. This is a Remington model 514, single shot bolt action rifle with rotating safety on the back of the bolt.
Remington made somewhere around 757,000 of these from 1948 to 1970. In the 40's and 50's, this squirrel gitter would have set you back all of $14.

That is a classic, ranger, very nice. Kinda gives you an idea what our current dollars are worth. I've got this one to contribute, a Winchester 57. Great fun to shoot with iron sights. I can still use the aperture so i don't feel that handicapped.

Awesome Remington 514. My oldest has a minty one that was handed down to him through my Mina's family. It's a tack driver.
Daddy just bought a Remington 510 Targetmaster. Same as the 514 except it has a sliding safety on the side. His daddy had one when my dad was growing up. Great rifles.

I have a Remington 514 single shot S/L/LR that along with my at least 20 year old Marlin 60 will be the last guns I'd ever get rid of.

So, after reading this awesome thread for years, you guys have finally forced me to pull these out of the closet and take a photo or two.
From bottom to top:
A Winchester 62A, .22 short, long and long rifle that I've had since I was a youth. I bought this for eighteen dollars from a man that brought it to our house one Sunday afternoon in response to one of my Dad's Sunday newspaper gun ads. At one time, I had eight pump .22's, Winchester 1891's, 62's, 62A's, Remington, and Savage. Sold them all, except this one. It's well over 90% original. Dad told me to never use anything but .22LR in these. He didn't like the idea of the projectile from the shorter rounds mucking up the edge of the chamber.
An InterArms copy I bought for my oldest son when he turned twelve. My intent was to buy both my boys 62A's, but by that time they were through the roof. This one has a octagonal barrel. It's a nice rifle, but it ain't no Winchester.
A Savage .22LR/.410 over/under I've had since I was a boy, a gift from my Dad. He put that rubber butt plate on there. Have no idea what he did with the Savage marked one that came off it.
A Savage .22magnum/20 guage over/under that came along a little later. Meant for a turkey gun, but Alabama outlawed shooting them with a rifle. I still have two boxes of 20 gauged rifled slugs I bought for a fruitless deer hunt in 1966.
A Browning side by side 12 gauge that Sarah gave me for our anniversary in 1976. It is not Belgian made, however, but Japanese. Still a great piece.
I have not fired any of these in over twenty years.
Photo should expand.

Those are some beauties, Charlie. I'm glad you finally got in that closet!
Now you've got to get out there and throw some lead.

Yeah and I still have several bricks of .22 LR cartridges.
I used to do a good bit of squirrel hunting. I enjoyed getting out in the woods, knocking a few down and making dumplings.
Lost access to the land I hunted and really haven't pursued any other.
Could hunt public land, I suppose.
I was cleaning out a closet a couple of weeks ago and came across a pair of folded olive green Army issued field pants that still had squirrel blood on the right hand pouch pocket from my last hunt.
Coincidentally, given my recent weight loss, they once again fit.

Charlie, those are some beautiful old .22s.
I recently put scopes on three of my old .22s, and have a new-found appreciation for the old rifles. And I finally took my grand-dads old 1937 Remington Model 241 to a gunsmith a couple of weeks ago. After several years of trying off and on to get it sorted out, I decided to take it to a professional. I have never employed a gunsmith before - I have always fixed / repaired things myself. We'll see how this works out.

Welcome to the party Charlie! Nice guns you have. I owned a Browning BSS shotgun at one time (actually owned two of the 20 gauge models, an early followed by the later version) - well made and great bird guns, one I should have kept! OH
