Added this Schrade Cut Co Grand Daddy Barlow to the collection, big, 5" closed, 9" open. Looks to have had little use.

JohnR, you have one of the best collections of Schrades I have ever seen; truly awesome. You should make a book.

These Waldens aren't as old as many of the Cutco's shown, but they are fairly unique due to the etch, IMO. I've had mine for years, and thought it was a bit of a unicorn. However, when Roland posted another up for sale, I had to jump on it.

I don't think Ted Williams was the first celebrity to lend his name to brand marketing, but he was certainly well known for it. I have a fly fishing reel with his name on it also.

I'd be curious if anyone else has one of these with this etch.

Two stellar rigger's knives you have there. And Roland recently posted some Schrades I had to jump on, too...

Don't think I have posted these before. Nice knives glennbad and johnr. Rangerinaz thats a nice grafters knife. I about lost it on your avatar. I know its not politically correct but as someone who started smoking at 9 years old and had open heart at 62 I paid my dues. IT WAS STILL FUNNY.

Just found this “gold” knife with J.N.C. Co. Stamped on the bail. Checked this out and it said made by G. SCHRADE 1940.

Some great knives being posted! I've enjoyed seeing them.

My last two Schrades are both oldies. The first is a Cut Co "M7703T Shackle" with the later Cut Co peach-seed jigging.

Today I landed this very early "E. Weck's Best" etched knife. It's a Cut Co 2213, as listed in the 1926 catalog, but has the earliest style of jigging and the tang stamp has no "& SON" or "& CO". This seems to suggest it was made much earlier. I'm thinking it was likely made in the arched tang-stamp period, or very shortly after, so at least 100 years old.

I like the hammer marks on the handle pins. They're less uniform but more "hand-crafted" looking. I see them as another indicator of age.

Thanks for the kind remarks! It's been a great couple days because today I also made a deal with knifeaholic for a couple pearl gent's knives he had for sale. Two more fine oldies incoming!
