All About Pocket Knives

Welder Bob those are three dandy scouts. That Moore has my curiosity aroused. I looked it up in both Goin's Encyclopedia of Cutlery Markings and in Blades Guide to Knives and Their Values. Goins shows Moore Pamona Co. (Colorado?) and Blade's Guide shows Pamona Ca (California?) "some made by Imperial". I love a mystery and I also love a good looking scout knife. That one is BOTH!!!

Great pick ups Bob. The swedge on that spear point is a nice touch. I'll own a Miller Bros. Someday.

Yes it is a bit short but still a very nice example that do not come around very often for sale

Here you are Dimitri, I know on multi blade knives some kinking or bend is necessary, I haven't noticed it quite like this on other scouts I have.

WelderBob, that last pic sure tells the story.

Here's a scout tang stamped Brown Shoe Company, St Louis. The main blade is a wreck but that good old brown bone is still there.

This one is another blade worn beauty. All I can make of the tang stamp is UNION.

Scott I think that's a safe bet. J.R. loved those ole scouts.

Wazu those two you posted sure do have beautiful bone handles. I don't think they could have possibly looked that good new. I firmly believe that time is required to age that bone and give it the "look" those handles have.

I feel the same way when I see this thread. I always smile when I run into a post from JR. He was one of the most upbeat people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. He is missed here

Toting this SEARS CRAFTSMAN around today......

Anyone know who made those Craftsman knives like shown above ? I had one several years ago but never was sure of its origins.

I had one and the consensus was Camillus.

A few beauties.....

Shield is worn and I cant make out what it says .
Pattern number master blade stamped reverse tang is r4523 .
Front tang marked Remington UMC inside the circle and made in the usa out side the circle . Punch blade marked Remington UMC inside the circle , no other blades marked . Knife has the early style blades from the 1920s , one piece can opener and the short screw driver .
