Very Nice Skip. Getting early in the Geo Schrade date. Loving the Camillus Scout Knife.New_Windsor_NY wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2020 4:03 pm This morning, my trip to the post office produced these two knives. First two pictures, an unbranded, single blade, wire handle pocket knife. More than likely, a GEO SCHRADE. This knife came out of the scout style, utensil kit, that I bought last week. The seller thought it might have a 1935 patent date, it doesn't, it's a 1926 patent date. It didn't require much cleaning. Here is the link to the whole kit. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=46672&start=2415#p820931
The last two pictures are of a CAMILLUS, 3 blade, Boy Scout pocket knife with bail. It is the "75th ANNIVERSARY - BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA - 1910-1985 pocket knife. It didn't need any cleaning. I took pictures of both knives, here they are.
Papa Bones wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2020 4:06 am Well, I finally received the Yellow Handle Kutmaster today in the mail. The only thing I've done to it is add a little oil to the joints and work the blades. You are seeing it as it came out of the box it was mailed in. I believe this was a drawer queen for a while. No rust anywhere, just some light staining, and blades are stiff, but have loosened up since I've worked them with some fresh oil, with good snap. I believe it will clean up a little more with some case paste. Will work it into my EDC rotation. It's 3-3/8 in. closed.
The Main blade tang stamp reads
KUTMASTER
UTICA, N.Y.
U.S.A. T-1

Thanks Tom. It being a Kutmaster as well as the condition was the draw for me. But yes, Like yourself, there are some that have yellow or white scales that I like, and others not so much. Just whatever strikes me.TPK wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2020 5:48 amPapa Bones wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2020 4:06 am Well, I finally received the Yellow Handle Kutmaster today in the mail. Kutmaster 1.pngNice one PB! I'm not often enchanted by knives with yellow scales but it can happen. Case & Camillus knives can enchant me with yellow and as it turns out, Kutmaster can as well. As it happend with that Kutmaster of yours!

Can't say why, but it "Flicks my Bic" so to speak. I like it! Great find!![]()

( I do have a weakness for Kutmaster because they made some of the Purina knives that I like so much! )
Anyways, congrats, nice find!![]()

Very nice find Skip!New_Windsor_NY wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2020 4:15 pm This morning I picked up this knife at the post office. It's a CAMILLUS (1047), 3 blade, federal style shield, Boy Scout, "whittler" pocket knife. I gave the blades a minor cleaning. Pictures were taken and here is the knife.
"Three sides of this 12" strop have a 8" x 1.5" piece of fullgrain cowhide flesh side up, perfect for stropping. The other side has the leather hide side up."
That on is in pretty good shape and also a silver shield.New_Windsor_NY wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2020 4:15 pm This morning I picked up this knife at the post office. Hope you like it! Hope I do too for that matter, but it seems really good.Quick Steel wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2020 7:20 pm EDC,Thanks for the info. I just ordered a strop from them.

Well except for the Camillus Cub Scout Knife. But it may be more of a copper color, but I've seen some that almost looked gold.New_Windsor_NY wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2020 8:34 pm
Thank you Floyd.I'm 99.99% certain that Camillus only used the "silver" shields. Imperials are the ones with the "gold" and "silver" shields (below).

Irregardless, as we say here in the south...."You done flung an itch on me for that pattern."New_Windsor_NY wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2020 11:59 pmYou're right Smitty.Papa Bones wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2020 11:50 pmWell except for the Camillus Cub Scout Knife. Would that be from the early 80’s? Looks like the one I had/have that I can’t find. I could swear it was dark blue. I have my Dad’s but it’s brownish black from I guess the 50’s-60’s.Papa Bones wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2020 11:50 pmWell except for the Camillus Cub Scout Knife.
