EDC, I'm thinking you should send that back. Or call the Baer asking for return shipping info. Sometimes a company will save you the hassle and ship out a new one sight unseen.

It came from SMKW, but I'm thinking the same. Or just a refund, these issues are fairly odd, not the usual imperfections.

The last one in the pipeline showed up today. It's well built, as are most Rough Riders these days. I'm sorta on the fence on the whole Buckshot thing. ::shrug:: So why did I buy it, you ask. 'Cause I could. :mrgreen:

I got this odd one today ,it was on flebay, There was no brand listed and I messaged the seller with several questions but never responded.I knew it was a quality made knife,by the colors of the celluloid I thought maybe Remington,Cattaraugus or Utica,Well it is a Western States.Whats odd is it has a B.P.O.E.
shield (Elks Lodge) on the back side and an advertisement on the other side."The American Disinfecting Co Inc" Sedalia MO. A sign of the times.Not sure how a knife ended up with these two features, but a nice knife with great snap.

These two. They just cost $10 total.

The York Cutlery Co., Solingen is pretty beat up, and ugly. As I expected from reading some posts about the brand here, quality is shotty. Fodder for next year's POS exchange. An old, odd brand to avoid. That seems to be the consensus here, and my opinion of this specimen. York (named, and based in York, PA) seems to be an importer that was a predecessor of what would become Gutmann Cutlery Co.

Schrade USA 33OT. The seller's description for this lot was "parts or repair". The clip blade did not snap shut as I started to clean, and thought it was from lack of oiling and wear. Lots of rinsing, scrubbing, and opening and closing under soapy water later, and both blades now snap very well after the crud is gone. The knife had no rust at all anywhere. Condition wise, there is nothing more than normal wear/sharpening scratches and spotting/patina. Lint removal and sanitizing the knife was all the cleaning I did and really had to do. I oiled the blades and pivots, touched it up on my little ceramic pocket hone (edge was pretty decent to start with), and slipped it in my pocket. $10 shipped is a decent deal for just this knife alone in my opinion.

VERY NICE knives everyone. ::tu::

Today my trip to the post office produced these four knives. First up and the first three pictures are of a PROVIDENCE CUTLERY COMPANY, single blade with attached cap lifter/bottle opener and can opener, pocket knife. The tang stamp is difficult to read, the stamp on the opener is easy to read (pic #1). It required no cleaning at all. Next up and pictures 4, 5 & 6 are of two, GEO SCHRADE, single blade, wire handle pocket knives. One has a hawkbill blade, the other has a sheepsfoot blade. Both of these needed a good cleaning. I left the guard/spacer alone on each knife. Good tang stamps on both knives. Last up and the last four pictures are of a CAMILLUS 72, bone handles, 3 blade, swelled center, short-line, first generation, "whittler" pocket knife. It didn't really "need" to be cleaned, but I gave the blades a minor, gentle cleaning. I took some pictures and here are the knives.

Very nice Garry. Very nice.

I got this A.G. Russell in today. I will post more pictures of this in the Other Seki Made thread. This had to have been designed by Tak Fukuta. I have one designed by him that Benchmade produced for Marbles and it was designed by Tak. I will post side by side pics in the other thread. This one was made in 2002. Has Burl Maple handles, I was told. I have my doubts that its maple. It’s a sweet knife.
