I know the answer to that one - with liberal use of one of these:
OMG.... that is way more scary than seeing someone stick a knife blade up to a grinding wheel. That is TWO grinding wheels..... YIKES!!

If pocket knives had eyes, the sight of one of those would make them shake in their bolsters!!! Don't you love the way the shaft in that grinding machine has a lot of end play so the grinding wheels move left and right while in use???

That's about like an automatic pencil sharpener without an end stop. It will eat a whole pencil before you can bat an eye.
(Does anybody even use pencils anymore?)

Meridian_Mike wrote:Well, I found this poor and very sick "WHITE TAIL CUTLERY" 72 pattern knife at the antique store this past weekend. Nothing at all on the blade tangs....There is a little blade etch left. MAN.... how does anyone ruin a set of blades like this?

Anyway, Jerry, I am sure you have a good example of this one... don't you?

Mike, I do have what is supposed to be a White Tail Cutlery with Mother of Toilet Seat handles. It was a gift from T.J.Murphy several years ago. There are no marks on it but it did come with a piece of paper that indicates it is WTC. I think it was made by Paki Stan. It's not good enough to be an older Chinese.

Yours is certainly different and someone got some use out of it.

LOL... yep, that is about as far as they go now.

This one has to be another one make by ole Paki himself. Pretty sad. The spring for the main blade is broken. Whatever the handle material is (?) I can see filler in a few spots. Just plain poor at best.

They are widely used for doing Sudoku and crossword puzzles. (By me at least).

Well, I started out with a pencil.... went to a lead holder.... then a computer with AutoCad... then to 3D modeling.
I still use a lead holder some now but I haven't used a pencil you have to sharpen in years.
Let me take that back....
I do use a carpenters pencil when doing wood work... and I sharpen it WITH A KNIFE!!....
(Notice how I went full circle there....LOL)

I still use pencils a lot. Because I need to erase mistakes and start over. :) Won another 72 last night cheap. Never hurts to have a few spares around.

Mail carrier had this for me today. The plain black bone 72 from the 90s. For those who don't know, they made one in black bone that had ducks on the water scene deep etched on the main blade. Another was made for SMKW that had "Ole Smoky" etched on the main blade. The hardest one to find is just a plain #72 with black bone handles. This is my second one but I couldn't pass it up for the price. It's in factory condition.

Hi, my name's Jerry and I'm a hoarder. ::facepalm::

Sellers picture. I'll take my own tomorrow.
