One of those items I'd been meaning to get for a long time, but just now got around to it. I got the email that it shipped this morning; so It's In The Mail. It is a bigger knife, 4 3/4" closed with a just over 3.5" D2 Tool Steel blade. While I normally pass on knives made by clothing companies because they are crap (5.11 Tactical really comes to mind); this one seems to spec out quite well, with a quite thick D2 blade, G-10 handle, and is made in Taiwan, not China. MSRP is $60, I paid just over $30 from the company's website factoring in shipping.
First Tactical Krait Spear. I had to go with a screenshot. Despite being JPG images, they just wouldn't work here or even on my IMGUR account for use on another forum. I suspect they've done something to the images to prevent unauthorized reposting/reuse.

I haven't had a horse in close to ten years. I've always liked hoof knives for some reason. I'd been watching this particular Frosts (Mora) for quite some time, as I felt it would be a good utility fixed blade as well as it doesn't have the special blade shape or handle of most you see. Seller sent me a "special offer" knocking the $16 shipped price down to $10, so I bit immediately. Mora's MSRP is $22. We have sheep; so it can be used on them as well. I plan to modify that unsharpened area between handle and blade into a choil.
Frosts (which merged with Eriksson to form Morakniv; but survives as Mora's line of "trade" knives) Toeing Knife 330.

Good deal! I like that toeing knife! I have No idea what I would need it for though.
But then again..., what do I need the other ones for really? Ok, it's on my distant future acquisition list for now but hey who knows,
maybe that's a form that's not so expensive on the bay. I'll have to check.

Kershaw USA 1600BLK Ken Onion Design
"Chive" in good condition. Been wanting to try one of these "Flippers" for a while. I can't carry it here though.
I promise that I probably, might not, hardley ever, won't carry it I think maybe.

Nice one! The Leek is not only hard-firing, but also a pretty capable knife for its small size. To me, a tiny bit TOO small, but a very usable knife.
I bought a Kershaw Leek, Scallion, and Chive used all at once (as the price was dirt cheap). Of those, only the Chive was able to be used right after cleaning and maintenance, and even then, I had to take the knife completely apart to get gunk out of the assist spring. The seller apparently thought that in the place of the "good condition" Blackwash Leek that was out of stock, I would be stupid enough to accept a Leek that had a badly damaged blade; a good three-quarters of an inch of the tip was broken off, and it had been sharpened as a belt sander. I nicely explained that I'd been sent a knife in such poor condition, and well, crickets. For a $10 fee, I think, Kershaw will replace the blade. I figure that's my best bet. The Scallion was blunted due to use of a pull-through sharpener. Kershaw will sharpen it for free, so it's going off with the Leek. May send the Chive and my DWO off with it.

The Chive is too small for my taste. The Scallion is a little better but of the Onion series knives, I'm most fond of and have the most Leeks. Love Kershaw "Speedsafe" but I'm sure that's what makes your Chive illegal for carry in Germany.
What do they have to say about knives like the Spyderco's which are not assisted opening knives? Do they also consider them "flippers"?

Anything of any size that can be opened one handed is an illegal carry outside of your own property.
I like smaller knives so I believe I'll really like it.

Thanks Cody! I'm looking forward to trying it out as I have never even held one of these before.
I'm very pleased at the price I got it for & that it is U.S. made. Hope it's as nice as the pictures. I probably won't get into collecting these, I just wanted to play around with it. I'm sure it's a fun little toy!
It's marked MAY 03. Is that 2003? Anyone know?
Was it easy to take apart & reassemble? Hope you get yours squared away soon!

Colonel, those "Black Box Winchesters" are just the cat's meow. They're a great knife and used to be pretty reasonable but lately the prices seem to be going up. Previous discussion has given me the impression they were made by Queen FOR Blue Grass.
It's been discussed more than once.

That's my understanding too Jerry. From what I've read over the years Blue Grass wasn't a manufacturer with their own plant (although some collectors state they did make knives in Ohio). Blue Grass held the license for Winchester brand pocketknives from Olin Chemical Company and contracted with Queen Cutlery to produce the knives. I currently own one Blue Grass Winchester #2913 1/2 Moose, and used to own a #2191 Moose and a Swell End Jack from the same series - all great knives and the same quality level as current GEC pocketknives from the ones I've owned and examined. OH

I just purchased this Camillus 72 variation. Another Imperial, 3 blade, swelled center, 3 5/8" closed, scouting pocket knife. Physically, it looks to be in good condition. Cosmetically, it looks like it could use a cleaning. When I receive it, I'll check it out. I'll take some pictures and post them in the appropriate location(s).

Tonight I purchased these two Camillus 72 variations. Two more Craftsman 9494, 3 blade, swelled center, 3 5/8" closed, "whittler" pocket knives. Each will receive a thorough inspection when they arrive. Pictures will be taken and posted in the appropriate location(s).

It looks like it's in VERY good condition and won't need any cleaning at all. When it arrives, it'll get the once over. I'll take some pictures and post them in the appropriate location(s).

Couldn't resist these Rough Ryders. For such inexpensive knives, they have great taste. Some larger companies should take note. The VG10 will be interesting to try out. The other, I'm a sucker for a congress and it just looks nice, especially with that work on the springs.
