Concerning Chicago Cutlery Folding Knives, I was the national sales manager at Chicago Cutlery when we introduced our sporting knife line. We contracted with Imperial Schrade to manufacture them to our specs including our traditional walnut handles we used on our kitchen cutlery. I remember visiting the Schrade factory on our way to our factory in Antrum, NH where we stamped the kitchen cutlery from coil stock. We also made the folding fillet knives in house. Anyway, the folding knives made by Schrade were excellent quality, but failed to gain sales traction due to price. The plan was to launch in hardware stores where we were very successful with our kitchen cutlery.
I still have one of the original hand made oak sample cases (#9) with all eight knives and the two sharpening steels in original condition. I'd guess there were about 20 produced. CC Sample Case.jpg
That's a cool story and some very cool knives!
Welcome to the AAPK!

We're glad you came!

I like the color a lot. Wish the color was more uniform on the mark side.

I do too (like it and wish the mark side was more uniform) but it's a crap shoot and I figured that going in so I'm not disappointed. Besides, it was under $15 after taxes and shipping soooo....................
If you decide to take a flier here's the link to the auction. He's a fast shipper. ---►

When the 62 Carvers came out I ordered one from Barry at gunstockjacks. There was some wrinkle in Paypal's system and they repeatedly refused
to consummate the order. We tried 2 credit cards and a debit card. They blamed the 3 card issuers and said it was not their problem. The credit card companies said they had not refused the purchase and so on and so on and so on. Barry worked from his end, I made several calls as well. At last after much effort the purchase was made. I can not say enough about Barry's kindness and professionalism. Great dealer to purchase from. Thanks Barry for going beyond what might be expected.

And it arrived today.
