It's been a long time since I have seen an old BN green loco. Interesting that they updated to "BNSF" lettering on the side, but not the nose. A couple of really nice pics in the sun and shadows!

SKOL 4135 it former BN 7260 SD-40-2. SKOL/WATCO back in 1990 bought Santa Fe trackage in SE Kansas known as the Moline Sub. SKOL operates a rock train to and from Moline Kansas most week days

BNSF has painted most of the BN green and Santa Fe Blue/Yellow unit's. very few left service.

Good evening Train folks,
Couple pictures from the last couple weeks. Canadian National moving to fast. Well maybe I was too slow. These pictures are from two different days but the line up’s are usually similar lots of tank car.

I am about 8 miles from the "Main Line of Mid-America", and nearly every CN train I see is pulling tank cars, and moving fast. Amazing how many tank cars move in and out of Chicago.

Good evening Ike I don’t see that train real often always has a bunch of tank cars.

Today went and stopped in Elburn at the Elburn meat market/Ream’s. It was a double shot. No 135 car coal trains they kind of became non existent after 2008? Who do we blame that on.

Last picture is east bound going into the market.

Second two pictures I was first at the crossing going home wasn’t paying quite attention like I should’ve. 4 headed up front and 2 pushing in back.
Kind of a bummer on my way home when I used to sit for a 135 cars then there might be another train in the other direction and I drove 50 miles one way.

Cool U.P. action shots, Ike and LKS!

The wife and I walked 2 miles up and back on the Great Allegheny Passage/Western Maryland Scenic Railroad rail/trail today. Restored Fruits Growers Express boxcar, B&O flatcar and Cumberland Rail Road little red caboose. The old telltails were for making sure trains and consists could make it under the crosstown viaduct that you can see in the distance. Cool rail art too.

Nice pictures, John, looks like a great outing. I like your artwork too. You did an exceptional job on that eagle, and the lips and teeth are also nice!

I agree with Ike,
Nice outing a nice walk checking out trains is always fun especially with the better half along.
Ike any idea on how many coal cars.
Thought I counted 135 one time. I’m sure it was not exact.
Now I can barely watch the long trains it kind of makes me dizzy. Time and age are not our friends. I always say turning 40 was no big deal. Turning 50 the wheels kind of start to loosen and fall off the bus and at 60 I am thankful to God for everything thing we have been blessed with including every new day.

I will get you a count on coal cars, that one today seemed particularly long. The UP that I see are headed to barges on the Mississippi, and the BNSF are going to a power plant. I see one or the other (or both) on a daily basis.

Actually I was going to put a Mandarin in his mouth, but the lips and teeth turned out so well I decided to pass. Sometimes you can't improve perfection.
