Its wonderful to see these knives brought back to life! I have in old Case stockman I need to see about getting new covers on now that I think about it.

Posted this else where but since it is a 72 I'll post it here too. Got it off ebay at a bottom feeder price. Couldn't resist.

Darn it! That's what happens when I stay away from EBay for a couple of weeks - you guys get all the good deals!

Good looking 72! Those make great toters.

Jerry got a couple more. Nothing special. Just different tang stamps. Long line and the last tang stamp cant remember what it is called.

Couple of good ones there David. I'm especially fond of the saber grind on the older one. I've just called the newer tang stamp "the double line" stamp. I don't think I've ever heard anyone call it anything else. Nice pickups.

I hadnt even noticed the different grinds on the the master blades. Thank you for the info Jerry!

David, did you notice there are no handle pins in either one of you knives? Camillus stopped pinning on the handles (at least on the 72's) and started using the post method for attaching the handles in about 1976. (look inside the blade well)

Yes, I did notice that but hadnt paid any attention to it. Thanks for the pics. They show it real good. I've read through this thread more than once. There is so much info it is hard to process and retain it all. My memory isnt as good as it once was. I'm glad you brought these differences to my attention. I find all these little manufacturing changes over the year very interesting. Also gives me a good excuse to hunt down more of them. Like I really need an excuse.
