Beautiful knives Unk and Zach. Has that Aerial been rehandled Unk ? Reason I ask,I have an Aerial farmers jack I had rehandled in ebony because the celluloid started to gas.

Here's an interesting one I bought several years ago because I had the itch and it was cheap (yes, I know. I'm a hypocrite) They called it a Congress Whittler.

I bought the Aerial off e-bay a few years ago. Typically you see those Aerials in celluloid, but I liked the cocobolo on this one so I bought it. As far as I can tell, the patina - dents, scuffs, etc on the wood and the bar shield look consistent with the age of rest of the knife. The handle material and bar shield looks consistent with the time period - 1913 to early 1950s. I never really considered that it was re-handled, but I guess it could have been. Sometime after I bought this one, I saw an identical ebony one on e-bay, but I didn't win it.

The short answer is I don't know for sure, but my opinion is that I think the handles are original.

I like that little wharncliff - almost a hawkbill - blade Aerial used on some of their whittlers. Schrade later put one on their 44 OT.

Jerry, that is in fact a congress whittler. I started to say it's one of my favorite patterns but have to admit I never met a whittler I didn't like, so ........

Larry, they're all beauties but I'm gonna agree with Mel. That Case Bradford with the long pull and beautiful swedged blade is a stunner!

Thanks for laying them out together side by side in the picture. It's interesting and educational to see the progression in blade grinds.

A 4 blade pearl Empire with coined liners.
A split spring 4 line Camillus.
A split spring Remington.

Great looking knives on this page by everyone.

Carmillus that's the one you bid on. I thought you guys said that the sleeveboard had tapered bback springs so I was sort of surprised to see that the equal end had a spacer.
