All About Pocket Knives

Very nice

Obtained this a couple of months ago and it seems appropriate to post it now.

It’s a countertop die-cut display, 12 1/2” high and originally held a knife on that satin banner.

The applied red starburst price tag is something I’ve seen on several Robeson display boards and it states, “2.00”, so this is a fairly early piece.

It had an easel back, but that is long gone.

doglegg was kind enough to provide me with my 1st piece of knife ephemera, a canceled check from Queen Cutlery Company dated 7-1-64.

As you can see the check is made out to Lyons Transportation Lines, INC. This instrument was signed by Gerald J. Matthews. Lyons Transportation filed bankruptcy some time in 1990.
Mr. Gerald Matthews' is the grandson of Mr. Geza Revitsky, one of the 5 employees of Schatt & Morgan that started Queen City Cutlery in 1919. Gerald's father, Harry, also one of the 5, married one of Revitsky's daughters.

Philip, that is cool that you have the knife that is the model pictured. And the history adds to it. Very cool.

Pictured below are a tang stamp die punch tool for the pattern # and a tang stamp setup blade for both tang stamps. They were used on 1997 WINCHESTER, pattern # 29112BH, Sunfish - Toenail pocket knives. I'm guessing that the writing on the die punch tool and on the setup blade was put there by an employee/cutler. The last two pictures are of the particular pocket knife pattern that the items were used on. The knife is not mine.
