This is a Remington "R14" with the circle Remington shield and the circle REMINGTON, MADE IN USA tang stamp. However, there is NO pattern # (R14) stamped anywhere. So, to me at least, this is a fourth variation in regards to Remington. Yes it has the correct 3 blade, swelled center configuration and it is 3 5/8" long, closed. The first "picture" is of the description of the three variations that I knew of. The last four pictures are of the knife. It didn't require any cleaning at all.

Garry, this is not a knock on your knife, just an observation. Have you ever noticed the Germans tend to a.) leave a steep haft down to the bolster and b.) they tend to leave the pins proud. That's just been my experience.

Your observation is correct Jerry. It is a pretty consistent pattern or style. I don't know what any mechanical reason for this might be. I do not find the pins to be excessively high. I always thought the pins added a distinctive highlight. Sort of a Germanic thing. But to each his own.

New to me Chicago Cutlery P19. If I'm not mistaken these were Schrade made? I'm curious because there's no tang stamp on it, just the stamp in the handle.

Yep, Schrade made.
I had one years ago.
It was swinden key, too.

Thursday, I added this Imperial "steer head" knife to my menagerie or zoo. It didn't need much cleaning at all. The wire-jack, hawkbill pruner, from BOKER U.S.A., arrived Thursday also. It looks like it just came off the showroom floor. I've never seen a black colored blade guard/spacer, but here it is. Could it have been re-painted? Yes, it could've, but it doesn't appear to have been. So now I have wire-jacks with red, green, yellow and a black blade guard/spacer. The first four pictures are the "steer head" knife and the last three pictures are of the wire-jack, hawkbill pruner.

I bought this Solingen Boker Congress to add some color to my collection. I found the shield interesting as well.

You could get that toenail scrimshawed. That looks like a RR. Gary Harbour scrims the RR Toenails. He told me the bone on the RR is the best bone he has come across for scrimshawing.

Today's mail delivery produced these two for the zoo. Another Imperial "deer head" with serrated main blade and another Imperial "moose head" fixed blade, no sheath. I bought this "moose head" because it has a different tang stamp than my other one and it has no fish scaler as the spine.

So that's why it has that blade? As a fish scaler? I just saw an older Böker on the German EBay with a serrated main blade and wondered why it had that. Never occurred to me that it was a fishing knife. ::dang:: You learn something new every day I guess. ::tu::

No Tom, I'm talking about the fixed blade knife. Besides the blade, some of them have the fish scaler on the top (the spine).

Hi Slip,

ooops. Should have read that more carefully. Sorry. So are the serrated blads on the Imperial & Böker fishing knives or are they intended for cutting food? And, are you a big Imperial fan? I brought 2 back from the US but I'd be willing to trade em if you or any Imperial fans wants em. https://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/kn ... tart=19875
The white one has advertising for a Co. in Ohio on one side though. Don't matter to me, just saying. Just enjoy helping where I can.
