I've been looking for that one for a while.


Now, I recon y'all are gonna tell me there is ANOTHER MM Old Timer..
(Besides the MM89 and MM108...)

Scott can probably answer better than I can, but I think it’s Yellow Lake Mine. Looking that up shows a mine in Wisconsin and one in British Columbia. I didn’t see one in the Appalachia’s.

Yesterday my 1981 Queen Dealer Catalog arrived. Really neat addition to the stash. Even has the dealer order sheet with 1982 wholesale prices.
All for $40. Me happy!

Located just north of Equality, IL, it's halfway between Shawneetown and Harrisburg where I lived my freshman year of high school. The mine is closed now for safety reasons. There are a lot of coal mines in Southern Illinois.

On the previous page Jerry posted his 4 blade blue alox SAK. I posted that i really like the 5 blade version. Until recently this came with a saw as the 5th blade. Now there is also a version with scissors in place of the saw.
These alox knives are the best SAK's, except: no pick or tweezers.

Your guess is right. I think they are from the early 80s.

Just arrived is this Moore Maker Stockman. Made in 2016. 4 1/8" F&F close to excellent. I like the perfectly set pins, absolutely smooth, and the nice inset of the shield. Nicely Sharpened. [attachment=0]P1030313 (2).JPG[/attac

Is the 2016 MM with bone handles a Queen made knife ?

kj, I think it likely it is a Queen production. I sent an inquiry to MM about this. I think that Bear may be the current maker. If I get a response I'll be sure to post it.

About Queen,
Just was looking on ebay. The flood gates have been opened boys! All those unfinished blade blanks, almost finished knives from the Queen auction are now on the market. The value of any Queen fixed blade you guys may have tanked.
When 1 seller has over 100,000 parts that tells you something. How much stuff was sitting when Queen closed there doors?
It's really nice because the blanks are all finished, stamped. All they need is a final sharpening and handles. Cheap now to do semi custom knifes.

It's a good big knife.
Shown with a Colonial knife of same pattern/style.
When I bought the Colonial I didn't know enough to look for the tip of the saw. They are apparently known to snap off there.
Of the two knives, I think the Colonial is superior.

The Colonial is 6 inches long closed. The Western is 1/8" shorter.
Each knife has half stops on both blades.

Wow you got a knife there ,I got a couple of fingernail cleaning apparatuses.

Came in a day early.
I do like the looks and the heft. Walk and talk is decent.
Gap between bolster and liner. I've seen better fit and finish, but not bad for $20 ($13 plus shipping).
My biggest irk is not being able to get to the pull on the clip blade. If I push down on the spear I can just get to it. But if the kick on the spear was filed to make it sit lower, I wouldn't be able to get to that pull. I don't keep my fingernails long, so that doesn't help. Forgot to mention it's a Marble's.

This 1991 Camillus US. Army came today. Did the dealing for a very non-tech savvy friend. I must say I'm impressed. Seems built like a tank, but smooth as silk opening and closing and tight as can be. Very well put together. For twenty four bills can't go wrong. Same set of blades as this old B. Scout knife but if it's for a boy this is for a man, and built so much better. Not a scratch on it either.
