A totally unexpected package in today's mail. David (edge213) sent a great Cubs license plate and an article on early 1900s phenomenal pitcher, Mordecai "Three Finger" Brown who came out of Terre Haute, Indiana. Thank you David. Nifty stuff and greatly appreciated.

I recently bought a Western W66 fixed blade from Scott. I posted the knife but neglected to post the Scott that came with it. (That's what I've decided to call these little bomblet extras that come with anything you get from Scott. I'm calling them 'Scotts') As Scott is wont to do, there was something extra with the knife. One of his hand carved spoons. Wouldja look at this critter? Is that nice or what! I don't know what kind of wood he carved it from but it's just beautiful. You should feel the bowl on it. Slicker'n snot on a door knob. Smoove baby smoove. Love it and trying to come up with a clever way to display it. Thanks Scott. It's great.

Well, he practically had to shove it down my throat to get me to take another chance on a Pacific Rim made knife as most my earlier experiences with them had been less than satisfying (mainly over quality, not over price). Being a firm believer in the value of paying more money for a quality product than less money for anything sub-standard, I had pretty much made a personal choice to avoid most knives made in China. But, knowing my weakness for Mini Trappers, that wily old fox, jerryd, caught me completely unawares and totally off-guard and bombed me out of the clear blue with this sweet Robi Klaas brown bone Mini T.

Not only is it a real classy looker, the F&F is beyond reproach. If this Klaas is any indication of the way things are going, it's clear that I'm going to have to re-think my former bias and start considering Chinese made knives (other than AG Russell) more seriously.

Big MAHALO, jerryd...once again you've opened my eyes to a whole new source to satisfy my Mini T addiction.

Oh, it's getting more than a quick whirl around the dance floor...this baby's coming home to live with the family permanently. As you well know, I prefer a wharncliffe secondary to a spey...but, man, the geometry of the spey blade on this Klaas has captivated me like no other. I really dig it. Definitely unique with a sculpted profile that takes the spey form to another whole level. I wish more Mini Trappers had such a cool spey blade. The one on this Klaas has an artistic form that transcends the typical spey function. I can't stop gazing at it, turning it over and over and looking at it from different angles in different lighting. It truly is a piece of art. I love it.

Exactly. One of the reasons I bought the first one. It's very close to the profile of the secondary blade on a Panama Trapper.

WOW!!! When ~Q~ said he was sending a prize because I figured out his little game over in the Mini TrapPER DIEM Thread, my imagination didn't stretch far enough to cover this. When I opened the box, my jaw hit the floor. I've admired these from afar for quite some time but figured it was just another one made from unobtaimium, to be admired but never to be part of my pile.

Made in 1991 as one of the patterns Queen used to reintroduce the Schatt & Morgan tang stamp, this 042 151 Mini-Trapper is just about as good as it gets. ~Q~ I've figured out that you are a wild and crazy guy but never would have guessed that you're this crazy. You humble me my friend. This is a spectacular gift. Thank you doesn't seem to be enough but it will have to do for the time being.

Just to be perfectly clear...it wasn't a "gift", it was a prize that was won fair and square for solving the Mini TrapPER DIEM Mystery Theme of the week contest.

FYI...Originally, the prize was going to be an all-expense-paid two-week Hawaiian vacation; but, between the volcano eruptions, earthquakes and hurricanes, I decided the S&M Series 1 model #51 would require fewer liability waivers!

We failed to go to the mailbox yesterday for some reason. This morning I checked and there were a couple of pieces of mail and a small plastic envelope addressed to Joy. Just joking, I told her that feels like a knife box. She said she didn't order any thing. Long story short it appears the Anonymous Bomber has struck again but from a different angle. The last bomb I received, I gave it to one of my good friends as he had expressed interest in a cotton sampler and I was chastised for not treasuring that gift closer to my heart. So now I got left out this time Miss Joy and royal0014 were in the sights! Joy loves green and her bomb is a very nice green colored RR Mini-Canoe for her purse! The color is called Peacock Bone by the RR folks. Miss Joy thanks the anonymous bomber for the special thought that went into this.

And it is all fun and games until someone loses an eye. And this beauty from Quintus just about knocked my eye out. What a great knife and a more wonderful gift. (I didn't win nuthin Q) A case, 6207, 2013 mini trapper, Wow! Beautiful scales and a great knife. Lucky for you Q that this knife is a sight for sore eyes, so my knocked out eye is feeling better. A very generous gift to an undeserving recipient. Thank you Quintus for an extremely gracious gift. Very humbling.
