The dogs went along for a walk early this morning. It’s 38 degrees you say? Who cares?!

I haven’t checked in this thread in a couple of weeks, man there are some great looking dogs. Taco would be welcome in my home. Joshka looks magnificent.

I finally got a shot of all three dogs on the stairs. Bristol, as usual, has a toy in her mouth. Scout, the golden, is playing ball. Tucker is just on the look out for trouble. He is alpha of the pack. He is mostly Chow but a combination of many breeds but Chow is the dominant breed in him.
We got a long tunnel for the dogs. Bristol took right to it running from end to end. Tucker wants nothing to do with it. Scout will go in if you throw a ball in there but then she backs out. Bristol gets amped up. I wish I could show you the video of her running from end to end and around and back again. It cracks us up every time we get this out.
Scout in the second photo is moving that ball slowly with her nose. She sends it down the stairs eventually and I throw it back up for her to fetch. She NEVER gets tired of this game.

Try bribing them with food Mark. Most dogs will do just about anything for food! Here’s some video of pups going through tubes (and other things) for food.

Thanks Ken. Nice video. I can’t think of a more fun job than working with puppies all day. I get a kick out of just watching them lope their way across the ground. I’ll have to try the food reward. Don’t need it for Bristol though she is a natural.

The puppies are amazing! And by the way, I read articles from dog handlers and zoopsychologists that treats are a wonderful motivation in raising an animal. The dog needs to be rewarded for every correct action, every command performed. When the puppy learns, the number of rewards will already be several times less.

Thanks guys. She’s almost 3. Her daddy (my buddy) is no longer with us and her momma dog is getting up there. I hadn’t planned on keeping any pups out of her litter, didn’t want any of them. But one day while she was still nursing, she picked me. She would ignore her momma and litter mates and everyone else and stuck with me.

When people came to pick a pup, she wouldn’t have anything to do with them. We even had her sold and when the people came to get her she wouldn’t act right and they took another pup instead. Finally, my wife told me I was just going to have to keep her like it or not. And she was right. Trixie would walk through hades for me and fight a bear if she thought she needed to.

Funniest thing, she loves to go shooting. She likes to chase the brass and check the targets. lol. She’s a mess.
