A little (7"OAL) Bark River Huntsman - got it with a busted handle. Now a solid little working knife with Brass Furniture and West Australian Desert Iron Wood Handle.

The "Nicker" is a common hunting knife here in the Bavarian/Austrian area.
In earlier times it was carried everyday and everywhere in the "Lederhosen".

Im not a hunter but my first good knife was a Nicker (top left) and they are still my favorites.

Lederhosen, just got cool. Nice looking knives.

Interesting that in America short pants used to be called knickers. There is no traditional knife to wear with knickers.

Here is one that I purchased from a member, a Dan Graves. It takes something from the German jagdmesser knives, I think.

I picked this military style dagger up a few years ago..It is by Rick Hill, a custom maker who I think resides in Ohio. At least last I heard he was. Does anyone know of him? Thanks.

I do not know of Rick Hill but that looks to be a very well made knife-weapon.

Thanks KJ, I think the man is elderly now and at one point I had read about his passing, but then later on I saw another article somewhere and he was one of the knife makers doing an event in Ohio. So the reports of his death were premature. ::tu:: This particular dagger was used by at least one Navy Seal member and he spoke of it being the best knife he had owned. It's made with D2 Steel and I don't think this one was ever used.

Yes, the intended use is rather limited & best kept that way. Potentially a lethal weapon.

Glad you like it John. I got it from Dale about 6 years ago. I posted it at that time but with the passage of time and new members I feel justified in a repeat appearance.

Just finished up this pair of fixed blades, the ivory handled one is for Pheasants Forever banquet and the small one is for my inventory. Both knives have Rob Thomas s.s. Damascus blades. The smaller one has black sheep horn handle. The rams horn still has a little Ren wax on it, I have to buff it off yet. But you get the idea. Thanks for looking. ::handshake:: Terry

Excellent work Terry. Are you doing your own leather as well?
