2 out of 3 ordered arrived today. I have a 2 blade bonestag Barlow from Case on backorder. Both of these are Turquoise Curly Maple. I almost passed on this after seeing Charlie’s canoe, I thought it was too blue, but it’s not it’s just the right shade of Turquoise. Might have to go ahead and get all the other patterns they made in this material, those would all look great in their own display case.

Roland I'm not sure but I know there was a writer for an outdoors magazine many years ago who wrote under the name Jonny M. Someone else pointed out that there is a Parker Schrade J M knife. Thanks. ::handshake::

I did a quick search and Johnny Muskrat seems to have been an author of trapping and outdoor "how to" books.

I'm on the edge of conversion. I can feel myself becoming a fan boy of this Case 6318 Stockman that Randy (r redden) sent to me. Can't seem to stop chicken eyein' and coon fingerin' it. What a beauty. Gotta show it one more time.

Congrats doglegg, that is some great looking ivory with good grain and great subtle tones of tan/off white/beige or whatever it is. Elephant color. Sweeeeeeeeeeet knife I must say and congrats for sneaking one past the lousy eeeeebay Gestapo trying to shut down ivory selling, and especially Elephant. Little tickles me as much as a good ivory smuggler who gets one past the banners. God bless the tusk that gets through the dragnet. YEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSS INDEED. Seeing that and hearing where you got it made my day. You don't even know how glad I am to see stuff like that.

Not a knife per se..... but dad has got to where he’s loading me down with his “treasures” every time I’m over there. I guess since I’m the one who keeps all the old family stuff it’s a good thing. I’ve taken to calling my shop the museum! Lol

This is the latest. An old froe. I have no idea where he accumulated it, but it’s in bad need of a new handle.

Lol. I know. There’s no way I’m replacing the handle. But whoever was making shingles back in the day sure did make a lot of them.

He means once you go to replacing parts on an heirloom, before long it ain’t the heirloom you were originally given.

Mail order knives for a couple of young fellas. My grandson (the mop headed boy) in the pic and his buddy (with the hat on) meet up twice a year for a combined 8-10 days of camping and archery madness. They are 10 & 9 years old respectively and both are well mannered all around good boys. I did check with the other Grandpa to be sure it would be ok for his young fella to have a knife. I think they'll enjoy these around camp and where better to teach 'em knife safety.

Thanks gardddogg. Yes they seem to be fairly sturdy, Imperial Ireland stamped. I put the leather lanyards on to attach to their belt loops so they won't lose 'em. :)

Thanks doglegg. I think at their age a knife with more gadgets attached = more entertainment for them. :)
