Tony, Very nice Bowie and good choice of handle wood. How long have you been making knives? I hope you post more, and do you make your own sheaths? ::handshake:: Terry

Saw an ad in well known magazine and the maker happened to live nearby. This is in the 80's, I think :?
Anyway I told him what I wanted, at that time in my life, and this is what I got. :)
Tough and very sharp.

That is a neat knife and sheath combo. I like it a lot. Do you use the knife for anything?

Thanks Terry. I have been making knives for about four years. I have more to post, and yes I make my own sheaths.

Thanks Steve.
I used it frequently, slicing a large "x" in burlap to inspect contents.
Also carried surveying along with an Ontario 12" cutlass.
Nowadays I can't carry it to work, :D but it goes on the trail with the dog.
ps I had the handle formed to my hand.

I picked these to up today at my favorite junk shop. The dagger is a Gerber Guardian designed by Loveless, and the second is a Scandinavian hunting knife with stacked leather and reindeer horn handle. I got the pair for $100.____Dave

This was also posted in the Speyderco thread. The late Bob Lum had a very recognizable style which Speyderco capitalized on with several pocket knife editions as well as fixed blades.

Just finished this one up, 1095 blade, brass guard, red, black micarta spacer and brass. the handle is dyed mule deer antler. If you don't like big knives , no need to look any further, it has a 5 1/2" blade and is about 10 3/4" overall. Also took a lot of leather to make the pouch style sheath. :D Terry

Very classy, Terry! ::tu:: Do you think the mule deer antlers have as good a density/integrity as some of the other antler material? We know that Sambar is premium. Ruana uses elk but only a certain part close to the skull, blah blah...

Cal, mule deer and white tail are not bad as far as density and the outside of the mature elk antler isn't bad either, but my favorite is of course sambar stag, but hard to come by now. If the deer or elk is dyed the right color it can almost look like stag. ::tu:: Terry

Chris Reeve became justly famous for his fixed blades before he dominated the world of contemporary pocket knives.
