This Leek was out of stock (despite showing as two being "in stock" on the website); and since I'm seeing no refunds for it on my PayPal account; I'm either getting ripped off for $12, getting a silver Leek, or a Schrade I specified. When I received the out of stock email, I said I wanted the Schrade, giving a link to the listing. To which, the only thing I got back was a repeat of the out of stock email for the Leek, to which I restated what I said earlier, to which the seller replied"I think it already shipped". I'm confused because I got an "Out for Delivery" email from the website just now, and the Leek is still being shown.

I did specify that, instead of another Leek, I woud like this Schrade USA/Copenhagen COPE33, which I've long wanted for the aggressive serrations on the secondary blade. They were seen, typically, on the more modern Schrade designs of the 1990s, but not traditional designs. And the majority of those are a little too big for my tastes. Yet, the 33OT/34OT frame is something I'm very used to carrying, having carried a 34OT for 14 years, and a 33OT for a couple. But, I'm not 100% sure I will get it. But, it is showing "Out of Stock" on the guy's website, so it is looking promising--plus he did not charge me the $3 more than the Leek cost if I do get it, so that's great.

This would have been here today, but the USPS slipped--again; sending it to a post office in a small town near the Charleston, WV hub. They have made this mistake quite regularly, but it will likely show up tomorrow.

German-made Hilti "Tea Time" folder with bottle opener. 4 1/2" closed. I actually thought it was a much smaller knife at first, until a couple hours after I bought it.

Bought a 2012 CASE PANAMA TRAPPER (TB62546 SS) BARNBOARD JIG ANTIQUE BONE this morning off of eBay. I've been wanting one for years. It's the secondary blade profile that got to me. It already has a tracking number. Supposed to get it on Monday.

I had to buy something at Christmas time. My problem is with my back I haven't been able to get out on any knife hunting trips to find the old knives and I'm not about to pay the price for them that most people want online. If this spinal shot works I'll be back out there looking for those lost treasures.

That's an overdue correction Steve.

"Cheap" comes up often within AAPK.

Cheap definition is:
Inferior quality or worth.
Cheap workmanship.
My uncle was too cheap to pay for dinner. Etc.

The word "Cheap" comes up most often within Rough Rider and other Chinese/Foreign made cutlery.
The correct word is: "Inexpensive".

Old Folder i 100% agree that RR quality is consistently excellent. I think "cheap" does really mean "inexpensive". However we have come to believe that 'inexpensive' = low quality and thus the word "cheap" is also used to infer low quality.
The real lesson is that price and quality are not always connected. Rough Rider is a great example of this with knives. I am sure the same applies to most consumer goods. Skillful marketing gets us to pay a higher price believing we will get a better product but in reality it just gives more profit to those involved in making or selling.
What i have learned from buying a great many knives, i now try to apply when buying other goods: don't assume the least expensive is the worst or that the most expensive is the best.

Willy, I know we are all having some good clean fun here, so no problem from me on my RR purchase.
However just to give you a poke back, with almost a 550 knife collection these RR's will still be far from dominating my collection. I would say the 62 CASE and the 64 "Unknown" makers would be my dominate knives.

As a fan of the Medium Stockman pattern pocketknife I've had the GEC #66 Calf Roper on my want list for some time now. Finally pulled the trigger on this one yesterday - has the faux tortoise-shell handles I've wanted as well (Collector Knives picture - on the way from CK in OK - should be here Friday). OH

Very nice. I'm surprised those stayed on dealer's shelves for so long. It's a great pattern. I've always liked the shape of the spey blade on the Calf Ropers.

My sweet spot is 3¼" or 3-3/8" up to 3-5/8" so at 3½" that Calf Roper slides right in there. I wouldn't mind having a couple or three of the #66 Jacks they put out in 2010 and 2014. Say maybe the Burnt Stag and the Yellow Rose & maybe one more. That Yellow Rose would have Justold52 slobberin' in his whiskers.

Oh, wait!! I just looked and I do have one. Release date Oct. 7, 2010. Got it from HiPower in Dec. of '12. It's a #66 Jack in Rotten Banana Bone. Perfect!

(I still wouldn't mind having the ones mentioned above)

3-1/2” Stockman is my favorite size in my favorite pattern, so I should have bought one sooner (the old, so many knives but a certain amount of knife money thing!). Here is one of those early 66 jacks, might be the first GEC I ever bought, and I bought it off eBay sometime in 2013. OH
