Oh,it’s a good thing my boys don’t surf the web. Parker would be taking the spikes off his brothers’ bicycles and making some of those.

In other breaking news, I’ve been bombed! After coming back from my temporary hiatus, getting the old house sold, and life taken care of, I was planning on paying my fair share and becoming a paying member. I just hadn’t gotten around to pullin the trigger so to speak. Well somebody did it for me.

Thank you whoever you are. This is better than a knife because of what and who it supports.

When will it end?

Brought in the mail yesterday and couldn't figure out why I had a package from Jody744. Opened it with trembling fingers and this is what I found.
A Zippo lighter that looks like it got run over in the middle of the Interstate and a Franken72 that has blue patriot Kirinite handles and is VERY well done. He mentioned OLD CUTLER so maybe he did the work on it? Whoever did the work did a mighty fine job. Don't know where the frame came from because it's 5/32" short for a Camillus frame. I guess I'll leave the mangled lighter here on my desk to remind me that I quit smoking 23 years ago last month. I seldom get cravings anymore or even think about it.

I am happy to report I was the recipient of a really special random act of kindness from our AAPK forum brother from Hawaii, Q. Q & I share the love for Case wharncliffe knives and he sent me a beauty ... a Case Copperlock wharnie in Purple Haze color. I tend to target Case knives in non-traditional colors, so this one fits very nicely along with my Purple Haze Gunboat Canoe & 63032 stockman. The Copperlock Wharncliffe pattern is really a standout - lockup is above average, snap is stout and there's absolutely no lateral wobble - this is a fine knife by any standard. I've been fortunate to have been equally bombed twice ... this kind of generosity makes AAPK a special place. Thanks Q

I'm a bit discombobulated. I recently posted that I really like the Camillus 14's and I do, almost as much as the Camillus 72's. In fact it was the #14 that prompted me to start a small accumulation of medium jacks (3-1/8" - 3-3/8" closed). They just give me the warm fuzzies and I have a very difficult time laying off one when I see it available. In fact I've failed to lay off several times.

All that to say this. Dimitri (Miller Bro's) must have read that post because I received one from him in today's mail. I gotta say, it's in really good condition for a 50-60 year old knife. The handles are what Camillus called Brownstag®, introduced in about 1956 and discontinued when they started using Delrin® in the '60s. It's just a sweetheart. Dimitri, I don't have the words to tell you how much I appreciate this little beauty. I can't stop coon fingering it. Thanks a million. You are too good to me.
