CAMILLUS 26 (Yes, another one).

I really y like the Camillus 26. I purchased one a couple of weeks ago. Mint in box. With the sheath. But I carry it anyway.

The Schrade Bowie hasn't arrived yet from Tasmania, courtesy of AAPK member Timstools, pics used with his permission. Tim figures that only about 50 of these Aurum Etched Bowies made it into circulation. The Buck Scimitar has an 8" blade and is 1 of 21 made with Elk.

dweb, The etching looks excellent. And the scimitar looks formidable with lines that appeal to me a lot.

Not suitable for pocket carry, unless you have VERY deep pockets, but it's still a nice sharp/pointy object.
A Prussian Artillery Sword, made in 1854, during the reign of Kaiser Frederick Wilhelm IV.

Those two beg to be displayed. Cool to have and handle knives.

Thanks for the good words. Displaying the Bowie isn't a problem...it'll fit right in with the others. The Scimitar on the other hand will probably need it's own display...I don't have anything that goes with that shape of blade...such are the problems of having OCD or as someone on here said, Obsessive Cutlery Disorder

Thanks Ivoryman and doglegg for the comments on the stag pen knife I got for a bargain price, it is a keeper by my standards.
My Christmas gift to myself arrived early this morning, oh happy day.

Just had to have me a knife with osage covers so picked this one from the selection offered by Ken at Blue Creek Cutlery. Nice figured grain, near perfectly centered blades, and decent snap after I added a little quick release oil to the joints. I like the medium 4-5 pull on the blades, getting tired of nail breakers, and also like the fact that there are no half stops.
Another feature I like are the brushed satin bolsters and the satin finished blades, to me it gives the knife more of a 'old timey' look.
Wasn't sure if I'd like the patten or size of a Moose but now that I have it in hand I'm really digging it.

Thanks Steve and doglegg. Osage will darken and mellow with age and exposure to light, I'm looking forward to the future 'this knife'.

Thanks Ivoryman. Of the ones I had to choose from this one appeared to have the best color and most figured grain in the dealers pictures, I'm happy with my selection.

First up is an antique Russell 'pocket spatula' with ivory scales. Purchased from our own just bob. (Golden Rule Knives)DSCN5095.JPGDSCN5096.JPGDSCN5097.JPGDSCN5098.JPG
Missed this earlier, been derelict in checking new pick ups, don't know how I missed it. Great looking ivory there, sweet grain and color difference. I like that better than pure white when the color is good. Nice score and congrats. Love the tusk.

When the Master of Ivory speaks that carries weight. Thanks for the compliment on the little knife. I'm certainly proud of it. Thank you again. Headed up your way for Christmas to visit with my son.
