My jigged bone version was $79.95 plus A.G.'s normal $8.95 for standard shipping. Made in China with 8CR13MoV blade steel.

Like most of A.G.'s China made knives, this one has the striker pin inside the blade well to prevent blade rap (edge contacting the backspring when snapping shut) Fit & finish are excellent and the blade is super easy to pinch open. Very smooth action with rock solid lockup and no wobble.

There is a nail nick on each side of the blade and it's cut in a manner that is supposed to facilitate one hand opening. I've only tried that a few times so far and right now I'm terrible at it.

The tip of the blade sits well below the liner when closed leaving plenty of room for future sharpenings before it sits proud of the liner. Something I always check for with most knives that I receive. It's amazing how many I've gotten that sit proud when brand new but it hasn't happened yet with an A.G. Russell knife.

The tapered shape of the handle is not my favorite design but holding it my hand with the blade open provides a much better grip than I expected. It actually has a very secure grip and fits the contours of my hand very well. The lock release unlocks the blade with minimal effort. A.G. used a coil spring at the base of the lockbar. I have other A.G. Russell knives with that same design and I can see the coil spring if I look for it. This one is hidden from view but I know it's there.

Overall it's a nicely designed pattern and a well executed knife.

Thanks Railsplitter, appreciate your take on it. Good review and info. Beautiful knife. I have had several knives that sit proud closed as you say. When and if you sharpen the blade down enough to make it protrude proud, or start to poke you and catch on things, you can always grind down the kick a bit. I have a bench grinder so this takes about 30 seconds on average, have done it to GEC, Case, F'n Roosters, Queens, etc. Never ruined one yet, just take it very slow and check it after every touch to the wheel. Fine line between not enough and proud, or too much and blade rap. You know what I mean I'm sure.

Good advice. I have read about that method but I've never tried it yet myself. I almost always mess up when I try things like that. I'm just not good at it.

The last time a changed a light bulb it ended up costing me $300.

Rick, I hate to ask but could you show a picture of how the blade sets against the backspring when the knife is open? Just want to see if it fits as tight as the Japanese knives that A.G. has had. Like what I am seeing of this knife.

Thank you. Actually it’s as good as a Tony Bose collaboration at 3x’s the price. Not on par w/ Moki, but that’s pretty darn good.
I like Wharncliff blades, that’s one heck of a usable blade.

This Camillus What-A-Knife came in the mail today.

Two new knives yesterday; both gifts. My Dad and Mom are downsizing to a smaller home and are distributing to their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren such things as they want each to have. My Dad received this Western Bowie when he retired from the ARNG (I believe in the very late 1970’s or early 1980’s) - knowing of my love of knives he gave it to me. The NRA Buck 119 was a gift from the NRA to me upon my completion of 20 years service as a local gun rights activist. To be both Buck and NRA makes it special to me. OH

OH, Congrats. Those are both super fine keepsakes.

What a nice story. That’s quite a tribute from the NRA. I would trade all the plaques I have from 26 years in business for one of those. Very thoughtful of them.

My latest acquisitions in the folder category.
A cheapy Remington assisted opener. A Ganzo G707 automatic And a beautiful 2018 AAPK club knife!

Beautiful Ken, sweet ones. How's the Ganzo, I see them for about twenty clams and for an auto I can't believe it. Any good? And I especially like the AAPK. I missed out on that pre-order whatever and never had a shot. Typical. Same with this one. The pre-order guys had them all spoken for and one of them bailed out. Just happen to be perusing Gunstock Jacks site and this came up. I jumped on it. I cannot look away from smooth autumn gold. Looks better in person too, the pics NEVER capture the depth of color and contours of the bone grain below the surface.

The Ganzo knives I've purchased are decent knives. I don't see how you can go wrong for $20. They'll never be collector knives but they are great for EDC.

Hey Scott, glad you are feeling better. I’m liking the looks of pocket worn bone on your Krusius sleeveboard. I’m guessing that one is probably pre WWII.
Here is what I found today. My first Miller Bros. A nice EO teardrop jack. Main blade tang stamp reads, “Miller Bros” [arched] over “Meridan” over “USA.
Pen blade tang stamp reads “Miller Bros”{arched} over “cut co” over “Meridan”. Just curious, is this usual for Miller Bros to have two different tang stamps on one knife? Steve B.

2007 Stag trapper

Amen to that Ken, big downer when a knife disappoints. It's like eight to ten percent of the time for me I'm guessing. Have to send it back, request a return, deal with it. Or just flip it. Sucks too. Been there done that so much that I'm really glad you scored a good one too. And not just you, anybody, hope everyone out here gets good ones and no issues. That's the pay off the other ninety something percent of the time. Good score.
