First is a Big Bay in mammoth and the other two are my Harrison Bays. One in kudu bone and the other in Orange Curacao Burlap.

Fantastic Greg, That mammoth ivory is the most unusual I have ever seen. Is that a mammoth that is more natural and not died or stained in some way? Very interesting.

Two packages arrived today - one old, one new. I let you guys figure out which is which... ::tounge::

First up is Ganzo/Firebird FH11-CF. This is a brand new release from Ganzo, and it's the current pinnacle of Ganzo/Firebird: carbon fiber handles, flipper, liner lock, ball bearings and for the first time ever - D2 steel! I'm sure someone will say that they doubt it is really D2 steel, and of course I have no idea if it is or isn't, but I will also say that even if this was a Benchmade or Spyderco, I still wouldn't know if it was whatever steel it claimed to be. I'm not a steel guru. One of the reasons I bought this knife was to see if I could tell any difference between this blade steel and any other.

The second knife is a 1975 Case 6217 "Loomfixer" Jack with wooden handles. I have no idea why it is called a "Loomfixer" - I know what a textile loom is, but I don't know why this knife would be good for fixing a loom. All I know if that I didn't have one in the collection and now I do! it's a good old HOK, just like all of my other knives, and it snaps like a bear trap. I got it surprisingly cheap, and I don't know why. ::shrug::

This was mis-delivered and I had to call my old postal delivery person (she's still the best) to get the supervisor's name and number so I could finally get it back from where it had incorrectly been dropped. Gave me heart palpitations there for a while.

Knice pick ups you folks got there. I just received the little whittler that IKC offered as their Club knife for this year. Mr Carter was able to get some of the rejected knives by our own Mr JBF Chamblin and had the IKC emblem put on the shields. Not a bad little knife. The pull is a little lite on this one but quiet acceptable. I like it that the scales came from the old Cattaraugus factory. Not great pics.

 That is a stellar whittler! No wonder the IKC kept that secret from AAPK. I think there would have been a run on those knives if we'd known about e'm. What a great pickup! ::tu::

Tony I've got a small collection of those dog leg trappers going and didn't have that NKCA version till now. It wasn't quite as much as that Case Brothers toe either. :D

 Oddly enough I never did find any other 40 pattern knives for my pile but I managed to get my hands on 2 dead mint NKCA G6240s a couple years back so I made one part of my EDC stash and I enjoy carrying it. The wide spey tip makes an excellent spreader, since I'm not often "nutting" stock out in the fields these days.

Still haven't picked off a non-SFO 40, not for lack of trying. A seller I follow has been dangling a millennium edition (Case MM shield) red bone 6240 but he's asking something crazy like $135 (no box) and he never replied to my BIN offer. I follow the listing (and relisting, and relisting, and relisting...) in hopes that he might have a moment of clarity on his asking price. Sanders is asking a more reasonable price for a limited 6240 in his store but the recent AAPK knife release has drained my knife budget for the month which was already hurting a little because of some unexpected $$$ outlays. With any luck, my AAPK pals will leave it there long enough for me to replenish the coffers and make a proper offer.

I'll bet that big Case Bros. is worth every penny (though it makes me shudder to even think about how many pennies it took ). The wormgroove bones look so great and I'll bet it snaps like a bear trap. ::tu::

I really like that big spey on the 6240 that I EDC. That big long blade will slice a matter like nobodies business. I'll get some better pics of that toe tomorrow.

Not many Landers, Frary & Clark MOP's that I don't have but when this one came along I pulled the trigger. Sadly the mark side cover has a crack at the to of the shield but it's stable and not going to get any worse. For under $40, I'm a happy camper. ::nod::

A little old lady from Pasadena drove her very gently Greg ::nod:: she's got a few miles on her but as I said, I'm happy to find one that I don't have especially with a shield, which most LF&C MOP's don't have. Thanks for the feedback Greg!
