My 2 latest acquirements.
Finally!!....a 1965-69 era redbone scaled Case XX 6445R.
Also a 1974 wood scaled 6445R.

I just scrolled thru the last few pages and didn't see where I posted a pic of my prized possession. My 1974 Case Scout/Utility I got in a trade with treefarmer...

Thanks Bob. ...Besides Remington...Case is my favorite Scout/Utility knife manufacturer. ...very heavy duty and its hard to beat the old green or red bone scales.

I was fortunate to run across this group at a knife show many years ago. Two new 1958-1962 era Imperial boy scout knives in the boxes and in the bigger retail sales box.

Does anyone recognize this one?
I found it today at a local pawn shop.

Goins guesstimates it at 1900-1920.


The tang reads:
CORNWALL
KNIFE CO.
NY CITY

I have one just like that, Dale. My book says 1800's for a Cornwall made in Cornwall, CT. I always suspected that Utica may have picked up the trademark at some point and produced the ones marked NY, but never been certain of it.

Dale I too have one like yours.

Blade's Guide To Knives And Their Values shows that "Cornwall Knife Co." was a manufacturers brand used by Camillus c. 1930s.

According to the list of Kastor companies published in Knife World there was a Cornwall Knife Co. New York NY. It is listed as confirmed that it was a Kastor/Camillus product.
Goins lists both Cornwall Knife Co. N.Y. City as well as Cornwall Knife Co. New York USA.
LG4 just lists Cornwall Knife Co. and attributes it to Camillus.

I suspect Camillus made it as I have a couple Fairmont knives with the same can opener and the same screwdriver/cap lifter blades. Interestingly enough on is tang stamped FAIRMONT/CUTLERY CO./NY USA and the other is tang stamped FAIRMONT/CUTLERY CO./N.Y. CITY. It has the same shield as the CORNWALL/KNIFE CO./N.Y. CITY.

Since we know with reasonable certainty that Camillus made the Fairmont, I think it is pretty reasonable to attribute the Cornwall to Camillus as well.


WB, there was another Cornwall Knife Works from CT which predated the Cornwall made by Camillus according to Levine (LG4) and Goins.

Thanks for the info guys! I also have a Fairmount scout, as well as an Imperial scout, all with the same can opener and same basic shield, although the text on each varies a bit. Do you suppose the Imperial was made under contract by Camillus too? Or, is it just as possible that they may have all been produced by Imperial for Camillus? The reason I ask, is that i've not come across an actual Camillus scout with this type of can opener.

Just got this NM Utica 'PAT Apl' Featherweight 4-Blade, Steel Bail, Green Striped Cell, Official Girl Scout knife.

I just got a couple back from kaleb. 1st. is a New York knife Co. official scout with yellow cracked ice celluloid handles. I had kaleb replace the main blade, with one I bought off of ebay. The original blade had been snapped off about halfway. It was still well worth restoring. with the exact blade from a donor knife . 2nd. is a New York knife Co. camp fire girls official knife. With the WOHELO stamping on the shield and a faint etching still on the main blade. The bone handles on it were cracked, so I found a donor knife on ebay with good handles and kaleb switched them out for me.

I got this Schrade a few weeks ago. Look like it hasn't been used, but it has some staining on the main blade.

That Schrade is not an everyday find. I don't think Ive ever seen one like that. I'll bet JR has one though
