This falls into the prize possession category for me ... Case only made the 6154 in red and green in 1982 (year I graduated HS), and I've only been able to acquire the red version back when they were affordable - for some reason, this knife always brings 3x what I paid for it only a few years ago. Such a nice knife ...

This is only one of the several Girls Scout knives. This one is unusual as it has a different mechanism than the typical folder. The frame is one piece bent around to form the handle. There is a spacer riveted to the frame on the mark side, and the pivot pin hole is slotted on the mark side. When the blade is opened, the frame itself flexes to act as a spring, and the rivet shown on the mark side travels in a slot (arrows)to allow this. It has good snap, and an unusual way of getting that.

Thank you. These knives are recent production models. I've never seen a "vintage" Moon Pie knife.

Very interesting GS knife. It reminds me of a Japanese higonokami, except folded on a different plane

Going through my celluloid knife today looking for outgassing .I have had these two knifes around 5 years now stored alone in a sock drawer .looks like both knifes are showing a bit of outgassing .I have heard these knifes were popular with the boys fighting over seas during W.W.2 and are especially prone to gas out .could be why not a lot of them left ? They will make for good study knifes to see how many more years it takes to completely implode .
